I am in the process of potty training my 23 month old daughter. She has been doing AWESOME so far. Only problem, I think she has some sort of “poop anxiety” or so I call it. She goes poop on the potty occasionally, but only after a big ordeal and sitting there forever. She keeps pooping in her pants instead. Is this normal, how do I make her not afraid to go poop on the big girl potty?
It is normal, when she finally goes make a big deal and tell her that the poopie is going home, make her say goodbye to poop. That worked with my son, the only way he would poop in the toilet. May be gross but it works. The more you make it a game the better it would work.
What causes Halucinations? (In addition to drugs or alcohol)?
I was having a hallucination month or two, and I wonder by what causes it? I have a severe anxiety disorder, and most of them I ended up having a panic attack in the hallucination, or waking up with a panic attack. And no, this is not just sleep walk, walk aroudn in them, however. I am seeing things that arent there. Once I saw mud dumped all my countertops and father looked at me as if I halucinated (couldnt sleep) and I cried "mama's gonna kill me when she sees this mess And I will always remember these things to see and do when I woke up the next day, and his shame, because it is same thing happened to a friend's house and while I halucinating frinds told my father that I couldnt sleep do because the game was everywhere in the hall (seriously told me that)
go see a psychiatrist, perhaps you have something that can be solved by certain medications, with the exception of hallucinations, and anxiety and panic attacks, you should not leave without pay.
Post-infective power is cured by taking antibiotics?
Also, what is the relationship between serotonin activity and gastrointestinal tract? A person suffering from clinical depression and anxiety disorders have an imbalance of serotonin in their intestines that can cause IBS? It would weight loss, rest and diet change can improve the symptoms of colon cancer Someone who knows IBS irritable due to two reasons above? Do you drink soft or not?
NO diet soda. This is not healthy for a healthy person! Secondly, there seems to be a link to the intestines are involved and the brain. Change your eating habits requires you to take a diary of what you eat and feces. IBS has several different types: mixed bowel movements among normal stools or mucus and hard stools, runny nose, big soft or hard stools. Refined sugar can certainly disrupt serotonin in the gastrointestinal tract. There are other foods to which also can cause IBS, but on an individual basis. Each person is different. What happens in IBS is that the bowel does not exist or are quite empty on both types (except the guys in the brain). When this happens, the regulation of serotonin in the brain begins to rise and fall. As an example, for people with IBS who do not have bowel movement for three days or more, which the chair can be painful. Once the bowel movement, the mood seems to improve. Just before the passage of feces of a person can "explode" in tantrums, mourn no apparent reason. IBS often mimic ADD, depression or bi-polar disease. IBS is often overlooked. Sometimes a doctor may prescribe an antidepressant such as Zoloft, sometimes works, in others it may worsen the situation. The doctor often seek different anti-depressants in not really good. Not only that, but time that antidepressants can actually change the chemistry and how they relate to each other in the brain. That do more harm than good in the long run. If this is indeed IBS, food, in combination with glycol will polyethelyne 550. This will help keep people under control of IBS, but is used only for a few months, but no "cure" you talk to …. once a person with IBS episodes ever, sometimes situations can cause stress, other Sometimes it was something you ate. FYI: If you have been with IBS and have problems they believe are related might be some underlying liver problem. I suffered from IBS and other high seas and intestinal problems and even decades later, was diagnosed with chronic HCV infection. I was diagnosed by my Levels ALT and AST always seemed normal (or slightly more at times). Once I did antiviral chemotherapy (press Done polyethelyne eventually took interferon glycol * time drug free) I had a few relapses during the past 6 years. Lettuce seems to be the culprit for me. As for the post infection, antibiotics probably always the case, in fact, you can add to their problems, since antibiotics strip the gut of all things good relations with all the bad things. An excellent article can be found at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irritable_bowel_syndrome (artificial sweeteners are listed as a no-no). Try Stevia is not a sugar, but is sweet and a little goes a long way. You can find places like GNC. It's expensive, given the amount they sell, but as I said, a little goes a long way. As always, check with your doctor before adding something new and keep a journal of food you will quickly learn what aggrivated question.

At some level, all of us experience at different stages of life. Quite often it’s a circumstantial anxiety due to a feeling of being out of control, dissatisfied with life circumstances, worried that something bad or worse will happen, or a general feeling of not dealing well with uncertainty. So anxiety is a normal feeling for many, and even a normal sign of being human.
Overwhelming Feelings of Anxiety
But for many anxiety has become a dominant force in their life, one that affects their self-esteem, confidence, relationships, career, and is a constant inner voice churning that things are not right and that they may get worse. What may have initially been a circumstantial anxiety that ebbs and flows and shows up in minor non-debilitating ways becomes something more. For these people, it’s an issue of physiology or biology – one where the anxiety starts in the brain or chemical makeup in the body. And this is where anxiety can become debilitating.
Anxiety is a Debilitating Experience
What scarier feeling in the world could there be for your own body and mind to become your own enemy, and for the emotions you’re feeling to be largely beyond your control. And frequently the results can become acute, such as an anxiety attack or a regrettable conversation or out of control behavior at work or at home.
Getting Outside Help for Anxiety
For these people, after months or years of suffering in silence, help is needed and available. Frequently this is through the support of a therapist or mental health counselor who can provide a safe forum in which to process and discuss what is going on – mostly someone who can normalize and help regulate one’s experiences. A close friend or small group of friends can also lend support. Additionally, a visit to a psychiatrist can help uncover whether this condition truly is biochemical in nature. Through brief experimentation with various medications, it could be determined whether a deficiency exists in a specific brain chemical that regulates anxiety. Often the use of medication, despite some side effects, and add normalcy to one’s life. Despite having a condition which may be with them for life, at least they can experience a sense of freedom and relief from what otherwise may be a predominant way of being. Relief is available for someone suffering from anxiety.

A migraine headache may attack anywhere, anytime. The headache has certain triggering causes. Many medical researches are of the opinion that Serotonin plays an important role in triggering migraines.
The Causes For a Migraine Headache Are Plenty – To Know For Sure, Check With Your Doctor
The chemical called Serotonin is responsible for migraine; besides this there are a numerous other causes for migraine headaches, such as stress, food allergies, working with bright lights, having a cold, pregnancy and many others.
Knowing the exact cause for a permanent relief from the migraine definitely takes time and numerous trials. However, temporary relief can be gained by over-the-counter medicines and/or a number of home remedies, which though simple, are often incredibly effective.
Knowing the exact cause for the migraine would definitely be beneficial for a permanent relief from this awful malady. The first step would be to track its occurrence. Document the symptoms and trends carefully; these records would be helping a correct diagnosis by your doctor. If the cause is still dubious after a number of trails, you might be asked to undertake a number of tests. Do make a note about the types of remedies have been tried to cure the headache.
Even young children are not spared by this malady. The ailment is as common in children as in adults. Unfortunately, children are rarely believed when they say they have a headache because adults tend to interpret this as a obvious excuse to get away from school or homework! If your child is often complaining a headache do consult a doctor for further check up.
The migraine tests helps in accurate indication for the cause. However, on the positive side, doctors are fast in getting to the root of this problem once they have the required data regarding the time, date, frequency and any other helpful material that you have gathered.
While the majority of causes for migraine headaches are still a mystery, it has been observed that the migraine can be controlled with home remedies, over-the-counter medicines and a lot of sleep. Further, drinking hot herbal tea also has proved beneficial. Chamomile tea and green tea have been observed to have a very soothing effect when migraine strikes.

There are many factors that contribute to the development of anxiety disorders. All of them play a role in creating the necessary conditions for panic attacks, panic disorder and other phobias and anxiety to play an overwhelming role in your life.
One important factor might be the inherited, long term or sustained risk that predisposes you to panic and anxiety. Inherited risk factors such as biological causes, childhood circumstances and accumulated stress are the long term problems that set the stage for potential panic and anxiety problems. In order for these long term factors to come into play, they usually need to be triggered or activated by short-term problems.
These triggers can include excessive stress, trauma or conditioning. Once panic attacks or anxiety have entered your life, they only stay in your life because you are maintaining the causes that are fueling them.
Your maintenance of panic and anxiety include nervous or agitated self talk, excessive worries, and avoidance of fearful situations.
In people who have panic disorder or some of the other anxiety conditions, the alarm system is triggered even though there is no danger and many scientists don´t know why this happens.
Panic disorder does seem to run in families, which may mean there is a strong biological component but many people with no family history develop panic disorder which suggests that biology is not the only factor at play.
There is a lot of controversy about whether panic disorders, phobias and anxiety can be inherited. Research has not uncovered a magic gene that controls anxiety or clear evidence that your parents are to blame for you condition.
That would be a convenient source of blame but it´s not the silver bullet. However, studies using twins show an increased likelihood that one twin will have panic disorders if the other does. These studies seem to support that at least some of the responsibility falls to your genetic design.
What many researchers and experts on this subject believe is inherited, is a personality type. If the personality type you inherit is predisposed to be anxious, volatile, excitable and reactive you are more likely to develop an anxiety disorder.
However, the manifestations of that reactive personality depend on the stresses you are exposed to in childhood, adolescence and beyond.
You may never had the opportunity to develop full blown panic disorder or agoraphobia because you were raised in a nurturing environment and were surrounded by supportive people. It´s the old nature and nurture argument.
Since nurture plays a role, here are some contributing factors that might predispose you to panic attacks or anxiety disorders. If your parents were overprotective this may lead to an excessive worry and concern for your own safety.
The fearful attitude of your parents about catching a cold, crossing the street, not climbing too high etc. etc. will cause and reinforce a reluctant, fearful view of the world is a dangerous place. If your parents were high achievers and expected the same from you it could have had a detrimental impact.
The high standards and the strive for perfection may have made you a perfectionist and too self-critical. These traits can lead to anxiety disorders because perfection is impossible to achieve and a lifetime of coming up short can certainly fuel a doubtful, anxious personality
Growing up in an insecure environment, either physically or emotionally can lead to anxiety conditions. Aside from the more obvious physical, sexual or emotional abuse, experiences such as divorce, death, or an alcoholic or addicted family member can lead to excessive clinginess and lack of confidence later on in life.
Regardless the reasons for anxiety problems, they can be dealt with and while it may not solve the underlying issue that caused or triggered your panic attacks or other anxiety, it can stop the panic attacks in their tracks and that´s the first step to regaining your life.
People all around us feel anxious and stressed out due to the present condition of the world. Everyone has their own reason for being stressed out and you can see people wherever you look, be it a small child or an old man, having a worried look. Let’s take a look at a few examples of what makes people stressed out.
A child who has moved into a higher school would be stressed because his parents back home would expect him to excel because the amount of competition is high. A middle aged man has to toil harder by working even after his office hours to hold onto his job because his company is reducing the number of employees.
We just saw two instances which makes people suffer from anxiety and if you think anxiety is a simple word, then think again. Anxiety may cause distress and may severely affect a person’s life. The range of intensity may vary but yet the results are dangerous. You may wonder how come people do not get affected even though anxiety is quite normal. This is because although due to the present day scenario most people suffer from anxiety, people can lead a proper life without anxiety causing any major worry to their lives if it is dealt with properly.
If you are still doubtful whether anxiety therapy is needed, take a look at the problems caused by anxiety:
Ø As a victim of the most generalized type of anxiety, you may have recurring thoughts about losing everything that you posses. The symptoms are quite dangerous because people who suffer from similar experiences are bound to face problems in concentrating on their daily task.
Ø Many people develop various types of phobias that can be really dangerous and that may lead to various other mental illnesses.
The problems mentioned above are just a couple from a never ending list; the impact may vary from person to person. Anxiety therapy is extremely important because if anxiety is not dealt with properly it may cause recurring panic attack, psychological disorder, depression etc.
Here is a brief insight on ways to fight anxiety.
Behavioral Therapy:
This therapy employs techniques that work in reduction or stopping of undesired behavior. A common technique used makes use of relaxation and deep breathing that stops breathing problems that anxiety may cause.
Cognitive Therapy:
Cognitive bevavioural therapy is an excellent Anxiety therapy because it is a different but realistic approach to those who understand how anxiety causes problems since it enables them to take steps to stop the reasons that create anxiety.
Anxiety therapy should be started as soon as possible so that things are kept under control from the very start. You can find more anxiety therapies on the internet but always consult your doctor before starting any particular anxiety therapy.
Do these symptoms sound more like; Anxiety, Depression, Stress, all three combinded or something else?
hyperactive with fast talking (as opposed to sluggish and down), easily stressed over very small things, low attention span, obsessive over detail and always checking things, shy and not wanting to make eye contact with people anymore, permanent dark circles under the eyes, constant shaking, low weight, high metabolism (probably due to worry), poor ‘unrefreshing’ sleep, poor appetite, emetophobia (fear of nausea/vomiting including paranoia about whether or not someone has “tampered” with food and drink), poor hygiene and not wanting to bother with physical appearance, inablility to “switch-off” or calm down EVER and an overall feeling that you want to just get each day over with. If it’s mainly a depression, I would like to know if any of you who have been prescribed different antidepressants know of one that is an excellent choice for these symptoms.
You should get your thyroid checked. The shaking and low weight make me wonder if you might have hyperthyroidism. It can also make your thoughts “race” and cause nervousness. Also, anyone who loses sleep for a long enough time will present with many of the problems you describe. So I would first see a medical physician.
The physician is likely to refer you to a psychiatrist, because it sounds like at least some of what you’re going through is psychiatric. I hear possible OCD (obsessive thoughts and worry/compulsive actions). And if you feel depressed much of the time, you probably have some level of clinical depression. Bipolar is possible, but you have so much else going on it shouldn’t be automatically assumed.
Make an appointment ASAP, and in the meantime, focus on eating well and taking in plenty of fluids (as best as you can – I know it’s hard to eat when you’re feeling agitated). Try relaxation tapes to help you sleep at night. There’s help out there. Best of luck.
