What causes Halucinations? (In addition to drugs or alcohol)?

I was having a hallucination month or two, and I wonder by what causes it? I have a severe anxiety disorder, and most of them I ended up having a panic attack in the hallucination, or waking up with a panic attack. And no, this is not just sleep walk, walk aroudn in them, however. I am seeing things that arent there. Once I saw mud dumped all my countertops and father looked at me as if I halucinated (couldnt sleep) and I cried "mama's gonna kill me when she sees this mess And I will always remember these things to see and do when I woke up the next day, and his shame, because it is same thing happened to a friend's house and while I halucinating frinds told my father that I couldnt sleep do because the game was everywhere in the hall (seriously told me that)

go see a psychiatrist, perhaps you have something that can be solved by certain medications, with the exception of hallucinations, and anxiety and panic attacks, you should not leave without pay.

social anxiety eating
Anyone else like to eat in front of people / the impression that you are going to choke or spill something?

I think it is a form of social anxiety .. My throat tightened a little and I get very nervous in the restaurant with some people at the table? Anyone else .. I hate it and I know that is strange!

Sometimes I feel uncomfortable, you're right. I do not understand well …

anxiety treatment plans
Hi any one no of any good paper e.g in relation to the treatment of separation anxiety in adults?

All the ref that i have follow a treatment plan in the context of children!! However i am intrested in the treatment of adults!! Many thanks

All shrinks just blame a traumatic childhood incident and charge a fortune for it .

If you want make a living out of it just set up an office with a reclining chair , allow patients to come in and talk for half an hour , then say “I think you probably fell out of your pram when you were 6 months old and it all relates to that , go home and tell yourself I love you in the mirror 3 times a day for a month”
When this doesnt work just just think up another equally stupid suggestion and charge him/her again . quack quack !

anxiety stress management institute

Stress management is the controlling and reducing of tension that occurs in stressful situations. Everyone copes with stress everyday. “I’m SO stressed out!” – It seems like you hear it all the time from nearly every one you know . Most people are unprepared to deal with stressors that trigger feelings that can make us sick. Literally, sick.

The statistics are staggering. Research conducted by the National Institute of Mental Health has shown that anxiety disorders are the number one mental health problem among American women and are second only to alcohol and drug abuse by men. One in every eight Americans age 18-54 suffers from an anxiety disorder. This totals over 19 million people! Anxiety is the most common mental health issue facing adults over the age of 65. Treating anxiety disorders costs the U.S. $46.6 billion annually.

Health Psychology magazine reports that chronic stress can interfere with the normal function of the body’s immune system. And studies have proven that stressed individuals are more vulnerable to allergic, autoimmune, and cardiovascular diseases.

Stress often prompts people to respond in unhealthy ways such as smoking, drinking alcohol, eating poorly, or becoming physically inactive. This causes damage to the mind and body.

There are 3 common types of stress:

Mini-stress – the annoying hassles of day to day life: – Heavy traffic – Cells phones with no power

Moderate-stress – the more significant day-to-day hassles that comes from deadlines and time pressures constraints – Project deadline at work – Holidays

Severe-stress – those events that are traumatic long term or permanent – Divorce or separation – Loss of job

Although there is no definitive answer to any of specific stressor you may experience, it’s your coping skills that support your ability to manage stress.

Here are 7 coping skills to stress proof your life.

1.Know how to relax – find a quiet place, get comfy make sure your body is well supported. Breath slowly and deeply.

2. Eat right and exercise often – avoid caffeine and refined sugar, eat dairy products which may improve your mood. Make exercise a part of your daily life-even if it’s only taking the stairs instead of the elevator or parking at the far end of the lot.

3. Learn it is OK to say ‘no’. Often, many of us feel we have to say ‘yes’ to everyone, every time we’re asked for help. You can’t be all things to all people. You must first meet your own needs before you can truly give others what they need.

4. Take a mini-vacation from stress. If you can find fifteen minutes a day, or one hour a week if daily isn’t possible, make a date with yourself. Schedule a walk around the block, lunch in the park, a sunrise or sunset alone, a bubble bath without interruptions.

5. Make time for yourself, your number one priority; once your own needs are met you will find you have more time for others. And you may find more pleasure in helping others when you don’t feel that you must always put others needs before your own.

6. Go outside and enjoy Mother Nature. A little sunshine and activity can have amazing ramifications on your stress level and will enhance your entire outlook towards life. Your improved attitude will have a positive effect on everyone. Not only will you be less stressed, you will be healthier, happier, and more energetic; ready to face whatever obstacles come your way.

7. Have a good sense of humor. Be a resource to yourself. Try something new, learn to play again. Laugh. Laughter releases endorphins, chemicals in the brain that restore calm.

Stress management and how you cope with stress is part of your daily life. It’s how you react to stress that makes all the difference in maintaining your health and well-being. Just like causes of stress differ from person to person, what relieves stress is not the same for everyone. You’ll never completely get rid of stress, but you can learn to manage stress with coping techniques that work for you. I hope that I’ve given you some great ideas on how you can deal with stress.

anxiety pregnancy medication

Pregnancy is a time of happiness and anxiety for both the mother and father. Family, friends and relatives all gather around to congratulate the couple. It is often hard to tell about a new pregnancy. The pregnant woman may get mixed signals about the symptoms of her pregnancy especially if it is her first time. There are many questions wondering her mind throughout the entire pregnancy time and couples often have aroused tensions due to unawareness of certain facts and figures associated with the pregnancy.

If you are a couple and are expecting a baby, the first signs of the pregnancy start as early as one to two days after conception. As soon as the mother conceives the baby, the symptoms start to appear. Symptoms like fatigue, headache and nausea are common examples of experiences as felt by the mother. However, these are very common feelings and experiences and usually can be caused by other illnesses as well. There is really one way to be sure and that is a home pregnancy test. However, a home pregnancy test can often show negative until unless one week has passed after a missed period. In some cases though, a missed period cannot truly represent a pregnancy especially if your periods are irregular or you are unaware of the exact date of your periods.

Vaginal bleeding for 10 – 11 days after conception is also not very uncommon among many women. A change in behaviour and a dislike for certain previously liked aromas is also not uncommon. Another important symptom might be a sudden incline in the body temperature for as long as 18 days after the conception. The cause of such temperature increase is still unknown but that is usually accompanied by headaches, crams and vomiting. This is usually attributed by many with the hormonal changes going on inside the body however true cause is still unknown. You should use a home pregnancy test at least one week after the date of missed period and if the result is positive, you are surely pregnant.

When a mother conceives a baby, it is also linked to soaring and swelling of nipples which result in pre-period like feeling. A mother usually feels exhausted and dizziness throughout the day without any particular reason. Tightening of clothes around the waistline is another sign of conception and pregnancy. The rapid discharge of progesterone hormone results in body temperature increase and a heightened appetite as well. During the pregnancy, a mother may field a rapid change in behaviour and likeliness for certain things. Fr example at one time she might feel like eating ice cream and at another point she might hate it. This is all due to the hormonal changes accompanied by body changing.

A pregnant woman might also experience lack of attention and anxiety. Certain exercises and medication can help cure any such signs. A complication in pregnancy can also be caused by any untreated symptoms. In the case of a normal r complicated pregnancy, it is best to consult a qualified obstetrician in the UK. A qualified doctor can provide consultancy, prescribe pregnancy medication and suggest solutions to your problems. anxiety self help association

What personality trait bothers you most strongly? Do you work too hard? Are you compulsive about minor things, or do you overlook them without realizing it? Developing a personal development plan can help you to focus on those components of your personality that you desire to change.

By means of personal development, people learn to realize their unique strengths and shortcomings. They solve problems and strengthen relationships by capitalizing on positive characteristics and avoiding frailties. To do this, a person must take a serious look at problematic aspects of his or her nature and determine the best way to change them.

Developing a formal personal development plan takes honesty, perseverance, and plenty of energy. To begin, review your strengths and weaknesses honestly. Then, decide which you believe you can change. These difficult analyses are a significant step in personal values development. When you have completed these tasks, you need to be motivated to work to improve those parts of your character least attuned to your own personal values.

Developing a personal development plan needs input from a different, trustworthy individual in your life. Find someone who knows you more fully than anyone else. Ask that individual for his or her perception of your strengths and weaknesses. Encourage this individual to help you in your quest for personal development and self improvement.

Many self improvement books offer only basic personal development techniques. Although these can be useful, they aren’t always helpful in specific situations. Moreover, creating a formal personal development plan without consulting a trustworthy professional is nearly impossible.

Other conventionally used methods for self improvement consist of behavior therapy and support groups. These, however, only encourage people to focus on features of negative attitudes and actions that they already see and understand. These approaches focus on the features, not the root, of the issue.

A better strategy for helping people deal with personality faults and capitalize on their strengths is personal development hypnotherapy. Hypnotherapy professionals are able to utilize this therapy to help people to form a formal personal development plan. These practitioners assist individuals to evaluate faults and find unique strategies for working toward self improvement.

Usually, those who are critical thinkers or have difficulty accepting directional suggestions find conventional approaches to self improvement hypnotherapy less helpful than do suggestible people. For these individuals, Ericksonian techniques for personal development hypnotherapy, and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), are more effective. These techniques are quite effective in helping critical thinkers to strive for self improvement.

Individuals with elevated anxiety levels often benefit from self improvement hypnotherapy. In the process of therapy, regression or increased recall methods may allow the individual to describe subconscious, pervasive reasons for anxiety. After understanding what creates the individual’s anxiety, a professional hypnotherapist can suggest personal development techniques that assist the individual to reduce situational stress. This alone often motivates them to address issues.

Persons who are dependent on food or nicotine often gain help from Ericksonian or traditional styles of self improvement hypnotherapy as well. Through hypnotherapy, they become less dependent on food or nicotine to provide feelings of peace and tranquility. Additionally, hypnosis professionals assist clients to overcome subconscious associations between these habits and pleasurable activities like listening to music or watching television.

Developing an effective personal development plan often necessitates the intervention of an objective counselor. Identifying one’s strengths and employing them to conquer problem areas is difficult. Some persons struggle with the admission of their vulnerabilities to themselves; it is even more difficult to admit these issues in behavioral or group therapy.

Self improvement hypnotherapy aids persons to deal with these struggles at the subconscious level, at their origination. Professionals who have learned this approach aid individuals by giving concrete or subliminal ideas for helping them to focus on personal development.

Summary:
Most people yearn to change some aspect of their personality or actions. Conventional self help books and behavioral treatments try to assist persons to form a personal development plan. These persons are limited, however, by their lack of ability to address problem actions in the subconscious, where problems begin. Personal development hypnotherapy using either conventional or Ericksonian techniques is perfect for aiding individuals to grow beyond weak points by treating the root of the problem.

Many people have difficulty admitting their shortcomings to others, or they lack the requisite financial resources to afford the help of a therapist. Often, custom hypnosis recordings made by a skilled hypnotherapist skilled in Ericksonian Hypnotherapy and Neuro-Linguistic Programming are be quite beneficial.

anxiety adolescent
Would this cause an adolescent to develop major depressive disorder and severe social anxiety?

I was wondering, if both parents had the mental disorder that caused them to want the adolescent to be perfect.

Also, if the mother constantly accused the child of things the child did not do and stated she was jelous because the father purchased the child clothing for the child’s birthday and christmas. Also, the mother had some sort of eating disorder with side effects of a bad mood.

Yet, the father was nice and had a very stable mood. Although the father was intimately distant, even when physically present.

Would that have any contribution to an adolescent developing major depressive disorder and severe social anxiety?

Yes, I believe it would. The kind of upbringing that a child has, will remain with that child all his or her life. Most people who have had a dysfunctional family background will manifest social anxiety and other emotional and depressive symptoms unless helped through therapy or psychological intervention. If your parents won’t take you, go by yourself to see a therapist. They are listed in your phone directory under “psychologists” or “counselors”. Good luck!

What is one source of fear or anxiety in young children?

Fears

What is one source of fear or anxiety in young children? Is this fear healthy? If not, can it damage the child’s development?
its for an essay so if you can get me a website or clearitily that would be grrrrrreat

The most common fear in young children, (having been one, and having some myself) is parents dying or going away and leaving them. I am not a doctor, but as long as they kids aren’t being debilitated by the fear, I think it shows healthy attachment.

anxiety helpline
Who can i talk to confidentially at 17 years old?

Its about bipolar, depression, fear, anxiety. If i call a helpline would they tell my parents?

Do samaritans have an email address?

I also see a like a therapist/countsoller kinda person about my OCD but im finding it hard to trust her incase she tells my mum stuff.

Unless she feels you’re in high risk of seriously hurting yourself or others, your therapist won’t break your confidentiality. Us, psychologists, are very serious about ethics. It’s essential in our profession that our patients trust us with everything they have. You don’t have to worry about that. Tell her what’s going on. She won’t tell.

anxiety issues

Usually anxiety is defined as emotions which are normally negative in nature. It will often consist of fear and worry, and some organisms even experience physical signs such as nausea or chest pains. Anxiety is a complex emotion, and is composed of a number of different elments. Some of these elements are somatic or cognitive, and the body will prepare itself to deal with an external threat. The various muscles in the body will also receive elevated levels of blood. At the same time, the functions of the digestive system will slow down.

The rest of this article is about anxiety, and will help give an insight on the treatment of panic and other anxiety related issues.

A number of voluntary and involuntary processes will take place in the body, and the goal of these processes is to get the organism away from the source that is causing it to have anxiety. Anxiety is an important emotion, and is designed to increase the survival rate of organisms. In humans it appears that anxiety comes from the hippocampus and amygdala, two regions of the brain. When a person senses bad odors or tastes, there will be a large amount of blood flow which will be present in the amygdala.

Based on these studies, it appears that anxiety is designed to keep humans and other organisms from eating food or objects that may be harmful to their well being. While anxiety is normal, a person that has excessive amounts of it may have what is called an anxiety disorder. People who have phobias tend to have extensive imaginations, and realize that their fear is often irrational.

When a person suffers from a panic disorder, they will have extreme panic attacks, and may have dizziness or breathing problems. These attacks will typically reach their height in about 10 minutes. Generalized anxiety disorders are common, and effect a much larger portion of the population. It is prevalent in both men and woman, and is characterized by long periods of anxiety that are not related to any specific object or situation.

Many people who have this disorder need to be extremely clean, and are afraid of germs. To reduce their anxiety, they will wash their hands numerous times in a single day. There are two primary methods that are used to help those who are suffering from anxiety, and this is either therapy or prescription medicaitons.
