Alcoholism represent a state or of a person who is  suffering from alcohol dependence or from severe organic alcohol ingestion. The patient’s cells, especially brain cells, require regular doses of alcohol in order to continue to function properly. Hypnosis London can help you to get rid of this addiction.

Each individual has a different profile according to his social environment, the amount as well as the type of alcohol ingested and especially his personality. In general, it seems that these people use alcohol as a treatment, in order to calm their shyness, their emotional fragility, their difficulty or facing some other problems of life they have chosen to escape into alcohol. This is a type of behavior which provides demobilization.

Consultation with hypnosis London when it comes to a drinking problem

In this case of treatment with hypnosis, as in all the other hypnotherapy London, there should be a good doctor-patient relationship. This is a problem that is usually hidden and the person feels very guilty about it. More often than not, the doctor is the only one open about what the environment ignores or pretends to ignore.

The management of alcohol through hypnosis London focuses on:

• The behavioral aspect
• Anxiety
• The depression which usually accompany alcoholism.

From the first consultation, it is essential to know the daily life of the alcoholic. At what times does he drink? Does he drink alone or with friends? How much does he drink? What type of alcohol does he consume? This information will feed all the future therapeutic suggestions.

As with the majority of the personal items, it is possible with the consent of the patient to be addressed during the sessions. The results that are obtained by hypnosis London in alcoholism have reported a success rate that is currently approaching 30%.

The hypnosis session of alcoholism addiction usually takes place in town or in hospital, and hypnosis is done individually or in groups.

The sincere consent of the patient must be obtained, which is often not the case at the hospital where the entries are made primarily to cirrhosis, delirium tremens, liver problems. However, the majority of the experience shows that it is possible to encourage and make an alcoholic decide to join group meetings, with the hypnotic suggestions as well. Sometimes, the presence of the family who comes to visit the sick needs to be taken into account.

Next, the hypnosis London therapist needs to consider the possibility of the patient to combine drugs: vitamins, tranquilizers, alcohol antagonists, antidepressants.

The suggestions are likely:
• Relaxing: allay anxiety and build confidence.
• Aversion: Alcohol meaning disgust, and incompatibility with alcohol.
• encouraging: enhance and strengthen the decision.
• Personal: adapt the speech by following the peculiarities of each patient

The frequency of sessions of hypnosis London regarding alcohol issues must be reconciled in the first weeks. Two sessions per week represent the appropriate frequency that is needed by the hypnotherapy London specialist to judge the best strategy and adjuvant therapy.

anxiety app for iphone

The iPhone, being a revolutionary handset, has enforced radical changes in how people use cell phones. Also, it has become a key to a virtual gold mine wherein independent iPhone app developers can earn millions of dollars.

The Apple application store had been distinct and at the same time tumultuous because it had post changes in the way the mobile applications are delivered and developed. It had made an open market wherein developers can turn from rags to riches and earn money with minimal resources, as long as they have the talent and the luxury of time.

Apple has brought down the roadblocks to entry when it comes to creating iPhone applications. Although Apple will carry out 30% of the total sales, they will be responsible in providing the sales, development platforms, billing and distribution. This will then allow the developers to fully concentrate on the things they love or doing best without having the anxiety about the distribution, marketing and setting up payments.

After its launching on July 2008, the Apple Store had become a source of a developer’s dream to come to a reality. For instance, Steve Demeter, the developer of the popular iPhone game called Trism had declared that he had attained $250,000 profit in only two months time. He had a few people helping him whom he had paid $500 each. If the flow continues at this rate, Demeter will roughly earn $2 million by the end of next year.

Bart Decrem, CEO of Tapulous, had developed a free application called the Tap Tap Revenge which is a music-rhythm game that employs the use of the iPhone’s accelerometer and touch screen features had attain a milestone of a total of 1,000,000 downloads in two  weeks time after its launching. An estimated of 1.75 million users have downloaded the game, Tap Tap Revenge and Decrem expects to double it in the next months. To gain more profits, the company Tapulous had inserted advertisements in the game. In the near future, the company plans to release a new version for them to earn more money. Moreover, Decrem had been silent to disclose the exact profit money, but the estimated earning of the iPhone application that his company is earning about $5,000 to $10,000 daily.

For the above two developers, according to them, the recipe to success is paying attention to every detail, keeping the application alive and engaging in variety of game play and at the same time, spreading popularity. You must come up with the generic idea and implement it properly in order for you to stand out. Both Trism and Tap Tap Revenge was initially become known in the Jailbreak community and it call forth a loyal coming before it was launched in the Application store for a broader market. Both the developers of this application look at the App store to be an exciting landscape to enjoy and at the same time earn. They have been considered themselves as big fishes in the pond that have future plans in emerging in the iPhone applications market.

anxiety groups london

Insomnia causes lack of sleep and it is primarily a patient’s complaint. It is a symptom that means you sleep too short, too light or in  broken lines and it is generally considered getting insufficient sleep.The interrogation and examination of the patient on hypnosis London in order to understand the insomnia is  then divided into two main groups of insomnia, according to the initial causative factor.

 The main causes for chemical, organic insomnia:

• muscle pain, bone or visceral disrupt all or part of sleep.
• Circulatory disorders of the lower limbs that are causing tingling, cramping or impatience that prevent sleep.
• Sleep Apnea that awaken the patient (8.5% of men between 40 and 65).
• Absorptions of exciting drinks like tea, coffee, alcohol, amphetamines, vitamin C.
• Abuse of sedatives, including the increased doses when the efficiency decreases.

The main causes related to thought that are provoking insomnia

• Stress from emotional or professional conflicts and before an examination or contest.
• The anxiety depression, where the insomnia is a symptom of some other manifestations of fear and anxiety.

Hypnotherapy London is indicated in the cases of insomnia that are to be integrated in the second group and you can experience the progressive withdrawal of hypnotics in these cases.

The insomnia is experienced in these cases as a desire for arousal, that is controlling everything and nothing. The intellectual hyperactivity leaves no room for respite and a well deserved rest. The chronic discomfort when sleep is no longer a refuge includes the fear of sleep, then fear not being able to sleep. Sleep deprivation eventually cause mental and physical exhaustion.

The hypnotic drugs are the cure that is the worst of all possible treatments because they are effective for sleep, but they create addiction. The patients that are moved into the certainty of sleep certainly and eventually prefer the stable imbalance that is caused by drugs in unstable equilibrium, they prefer a world without certainty to the better treatment.

Hypnosis London is a very effective therapy for any type of sleep disorders. Because of the abuse of the sleeping pills, this treatment often takes the appearance of a detoxification with all the symptoms of drug addiction that might appear. After this test, the confidence in your body will be slowly returning and the pleasure of sleeping without medication will be regained by the patient.
The technique of hypnosis London is used to relieve anxiety by suggestions of relaxation, and to realize a true rehabilitation of sleep. Hypnosis London has a kinship with falling asleep in that it requires a sensory deprivation: noise, light, temperature, and psychophysical relaxation before reaching the lethargy triggering sleep itself.

The peculiarity of the insomniac is precisely to help sleep; by obstructing a natural process, it is likely that attempts to control will definitely let go under hypnosis. The patient that is undergoing this treatment must be alert and he needs to be reminded that the suggestions will require a half-sleep in order to be effective.

anxiety thermometer

Fast anxiety relief is now entirely possible and predictable inthe comfort of your home if you have the right information and resouces. Anxiety is a perfectly natural response to a perceived threatening situation, and it is inbred and rightly so for our survival. The problem arises when our bodily reaction is disproportionate to the event and so the fight or flight response kicks in and we experience panic. The Amygdala is a small almond sized organ within the brain that is if you like our anxiety thermometer. Its natural state from birth is to be in calm mode and alert us to high anxiety state only in appropriate perhaps life threatening situations, when fight or flight is definitely the required action. It will normally dissipate after the threat has gone and will revert to calm mode.

However if we have suffered a prolonged period of high anxiety, this can affect the setting of the Amygdala, which can then recognise high anxiety as the default position on its gauge. This is not good news for the sufferer because as the external threat subsides the anxious feelings remain and become part of our everyday life. They of course inhibit us and steal the quality of our lives. So we consult our doctor, who prescribes medication and perhaps counseling all of which is good stuff and addresses some symptoms, but when it is all finished our Amygdala still tells us that a feeling of high anxiety is our default emotional response. So everyone is telling you not to worry, to calm down, because all is well, and they are all well meaning, but the fact is that your brain is sending signals to your body telling it something totally different, and until you start addressing the cause rather than just the symptoms, very little is going to change.

Now all is not lost because there is a way forward. Any fast anxiety cure must address the anxiety at its source in the subconscious mind rather than attempt to superficially change behaviours or try to address symptoms through so drug therapies or psychotherapy in isolation.

A natural drug and therapy free anxiety cure is available which allows the sufferer to recover quickly and permanently using a simple and comfortable anxiety treatment method that you can safely and easily use at home.
This method will quickly retrain and reset your Amygdala to its previous calm mode, and your life will no longer be inhibited and spoiled by inappropriate anxiety responses. The system is proven and endorsed by the medical profession, so you can be confident that the end of your pain is in sight, and you can now claim your peace and freedom permanently.

Wishing you much peace and freedom.

anxiety eye pain

Insomnia is an epidemic afflicting the majority of the population at some time or another. It affects our mood and impairs physical and mental performance.

For some, the mere thought of not being able to get to sleep gives them insomnia. For others, sleeplessness is a debilitating symptom of wider conditions like depression, stress, anxiety, chronic pain or the menopause. Sleep deprived new parents often struggle with the pressures of looking after a baby who keeps them awake night after night. It’s difficult to get things done when you’re physically and emotionally exhausted.

We know that there are different levels of sleep and that REM sleep, or the ‘rapid eye movement’ state in which we dream, is important for our mental health. Sleep deprivation is a recognised form of torture as well as a fast route to madness.

Insomnia is both the cause and effect of many common maladies of modern life. Lack of sleep can be a trigger for emotional breakdown as well as causing accidents and impairing performance. As a symptom it exacerbates the associated condition, perpetuating the downward spiral of, for example, depression or anxiety.

Sometimes, insomnia is simply the result of a broken routine. There are lots of common external factors. There are as many cures as there are causes of insomnia and it can often be overcome without resorting to medication. But it is still important to see a doctor to ensure there are no underlying health issues to be dealt with.

Hypnotherapy is often seen as a last resort after all else fails when, in fact, just going through the process of learning self-hypnosis is a big step in the right direction. As we fall asleep and wake up we enter ‘hypnogogic’ and ‘hypnopompic’ states of hypnosis quite naturally. These are brief phases where brain function changes during the transition into deeper sleep states.

Once in hypnosis, subconscious patterns of disrupted or disturbed sleep behaviour can be adjusted with the help of a good practitioner to suit the lifestyle and expectations of the most long-suffering insomniac.

The key to success, whatever method used to bring and end to the distress of sleepless nights, is to find a practitioner who will assess individual circumstances and treat accordingly rather than offer an arbitrary catch-all remedy. It is important to bear in mind that, even after putting up with the misery of sleep loss for years, it’s never to late to do something about it.

There are a number of practical ’sleep hygiene’ measures which help re-establish a healthy pattern.

Set a schedule: Go to bed at a set time each night and get up at the same time each morning. Disrupting this schedule may lead to insomnia. Don’t have a lie-in at the weekends. You’ll be tired on Morning.

Exercise:

Try to exercise 20 to 30 minutes a day. Daily exercise often helps people sleep, although a workout soon before bedtime may interfere with sleep. For maximum benefit, exercise about 5 to 6 hours before going to bed.

Avoid caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol:

Avoid drinks that contain caffeine, which acts as a stimulant and keeps people awake. Stimulants like caffeine can be found in certain food, drinks and prescription or over the counter drugs. Smokers tend to sleep very lightly and often wake up in the early morning due to nicotine withdrawal. Booze impairs the quality of sleep.

Relax before bed:

A warm bath, reading, or another relaxing routine can make it easier to fall sleep. You can train yourself to associate certain restful activities with sleep and make them part of your bedtime ritual.

Sleep until sunlight:

If possible, wake up with the sun, or use very bright lights in the morning. Sunlight helps the body’s internal biological clock reset itself each day.

Don’t lie in bed worrying: The anxiety of being unable to fall asleep can actually contribute to insomnia. Distract yourself with a book until you feel sleepy.

Control your room temperature: Maintain a comfortable temperature in the bedroom. Extreme temperatures may disrupt sleep or prevent you from falling asleep.

Replace an uncomfortable or old bed:

Saggy, lumpy beds can aggravate back pain as well as keeping you awake.

Block out noise:

Wear ear plugs if you live in a noisy street, flight path or your partner snores.

Turn it off:

Keep televisions and computer games and out of the bedroom if you want to unwind.

Herbal solution:

If you have trouble falling asleep night after night, use a herbal remedy to break the cycle.

See your doctor:

You may be ill if you’re always tired. Tiredness can be an early symptom of a variety of illnesses.

Learn self hypnosis:

A good hypnotherapist will teach you a variety of relaxation techniques to enable you, with practice, to fall asleep quickly and sleep soundly through the night. They will also help you cope which any contributory factors like stress or anxiety.

anti anxiety pregnancy

A health watchdog has said that GPs and midwives need to do more to spot the signs of depression in pregnant women and new mothers. The National Institute for health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) has also said that women with anxiety or eating disorders also to be identified.

The guidance was welcomed by mental health experts as one in seven women experience a mental health disorder at some point in pregnancy or after the birth. Currently only around 30% are being diagnosed with mental health issues during or after pregnancy. The mental health problems that pregnant women and new women are at risk of include depression, anxiety, eating disorders and severe mental health conditions such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.

Dr Steve Pilling, a consultant clinical psychologist who worked on the guidance by NICE said that there was “very significant under-recognition” of mental health issues in pregnancy. NICE has advised that healthcare staff dealing with pregnant women or new mothers ask three questions during ante or postnatal checks:

- Have you felt down, depressed or hopeless during the last month?
- Have you been bothered by having little interest or pleasure in doing things?
- Is this something you feel you need or want help with?

The NICE guidance goes on to say that women needing psychological treatment should normally be seen within one month and no longer than three months after an initial assessment.

Treatment for women with such problems may include counselling or anti-depressants, with the health worker explaining how medication may affect breastfeeding. Those who worked on the guidance have stressed the importance of using it to identify women who may be scared to ask for help for fear as being labelled as a “bad mother” or having their children taken away from them. They have also warned that leaving mental illness untreated could have consequences for both mother and child, including poor educational performance for the child and anxiety.

Dr Gillian Leng, who led the team which compiled the guidance, said: “This is not just about helping women get through the ‘baby blues’ – we are looking at all types of mental health disorders and distinguishing the ups and downs of everyday life for more serious conditions.”

Fiona Shaw, a patient who also helped draft the guidelines, told how she was admitted to a mental health unit after the birth of her second daughter. She was not eating and was self-harming but had been told by her doctor to either take anti-depressants and stop breastfeeding or just “grin and bear it”. She added: “Many women are concerned they will not be listened to if they come forward, or that they will be judged, or that their condition is not serious enough to warrant help from a healthcare professional.”

Paul Farmer, chief executive of mental health charity Mind, said: “We welcome these guidelines, which look to be a very promising start. The challenge, as always, will be ensuring that they are implemented. Parents deserve the very best support at the start of their child’s life. The resources to make these excellent guidelines a reality must be available, otherwise they risk becoming little more than a wish-list.”

anxiety every morning
What’s least healthy: taking anxiety pills every morning or drinking a couple shots of liquor?

Negative emotions (like sadness, stress, anger, etc.) causes your Serotonin production to be low; when your Serotonin level is low, you are more prone to getting Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Depression, etc.

Medication like Antidepressants (SSRI – Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor) helps to boost Serotonin level.
But there are natural ways to do it without medication. There’s this herb called “St John’s Wort” – it is said to be more effective than Prozac. No, it is not for mild depression only and ignore those sayings. In fact, it does help anxiety and panic-attacks as St John’s Wort works like prozac. Other natural ways will be exercise, diet, more exposure to light, etc.
If you’re unable to take St John’s Wort, you can substitute it with Siberian Ginseng or Licorice Herb.

The problem is that, even if your Serotonin is balanced… you have that “learned behavior” in your mind. You need to break that initial cycle to destroy that learned behavior – Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) does this. A technique that you can use without CBT will be Distraction… There are several other techniques to help cope them!
Ok, to use Distraction: Firstly, try to….

social anxiety forums uk

The various aspects of social psychology could be examined within the wide concepts of intelligence, gender, advertising, consumer culture, stress and psychological issues that define society. Considering consumer behaviour, social psychology uses convincing theories to explain addictive consumption, the influence of advertising and the phenomenon of purchasing. Advertising is seen as a subtle psychological manipulation as it creates desires and anxiety in the potential consumers (Papers4you.com, 2006). Advertising can have both psychological and commercial aspects including misattribution, bias, suggestibility, and could be studied from global or local perspectives. Organisational consumption is seen as different from individual consumption although generic psychological theories of human motivation such as that of Maslow and Freud can explain consumer behaviour. However consumer behaviour can also be studied in terms of the notion of quality and its relation to customer satisfaction (Silva et al, 2005). The objective measures of customer needs, pricing and expectations of the customers may have to be analysed within Service Quality or Expectations models. Hogg and Garrow (2003) highlighted on the psychological aspects of gender and the influence on consumption of advertising. Advertising has been found to be processed and interpreted differently according to gender schemas and perceptions. This would in turn relate to psychological theories of gender such as the theory of biological determinism, Freudian theory of personality development, cognitive-developmental theory, and feminist theories. Bridging the gap between gender studies and gender differences in consumption could provide us with new insights on social and psychological aspects of consumer behavior. Orth (2005) indicated that consumer behaviour largely depends on consumer personality and susceptibility to interpersonal influence, consumer situational disposition such as risk taking and curiosity, purchasing behaviour and purchasing frequency and demographic variables such as age and gender. Contemporary consumer culture could be studied in relation to an excessive emphasis on beauty and appearance and an obsession with youth, a phenomenon that has seen an increased dependence on cosmetic surgery. The increased importance of the body in the consumer culture could be studied along with the significance of appearance in modern society, the role of marketing and advertising images, and the psychological need for self-expression (Papers4you.com, 2006).

Social psychology is however focused not just on consumption and public attitudes on advertising, but also on group behaviour, general individual and collective attitudes towards various social issues including war, work, violence and quality of life. This would in turn explain how individuals deal with stress, and focus on the psychological consequences of stress. Although psychological disorders may in some cases be a direct result of social stress, deviant behaviour in society could be explained with the help of several theories such as the theory of subcultures by Parker, the structural strain theory by Merton, or the theory of conformity. Social psychology is thus focused on explaining a wide range of issues from advertising and consumer behavior to public attitudes on social issues and antisocial behaviour.

speech anxiety statistics

Copyright (c) 2008 Katie Kelley

The recent California train accident in which several died and dozens were injured puts into question the safety surrounding trains as a leading transportation. According to statistics from the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) Office of Safety Analysis a 13.3 percent jump can be determined during a three-year period.

There is an increase of this figure after the California Metrolink train accident in September 2008, which killed at least 25 and injured 135 individuals.

One of the common injuries that can likely occur during a train accident is that of a traumatic brain injury (TBI). Approximately 5 million Americans are currently diagnosed with TBI, but the number of train wreck-induced TBI injuries is currently unaccounted for.

There have been more than 10,000 train accidents reported within the last three years, according to statistics derived from the FRA. The most train accidents have been found to occur in Texas, followed closely by Illinois, California, Nebraska, Ohio and Kansas.

Individuals who have been involved in a train wreck know that the severity of injuries suffered can range from fractured bones to brain damage, which can severely impact an individual?life. There is a wide range of TBI side effects that can occur and the severity of this injury should not be taken lightly. If an individual is involved in a train wreck and may suffer from TBI, they should consult a medical professional as well as legal counsel immediately to protect themselves.

Reasons for Train Wrecks

According to the FRA there can be several hundred reasons as to why a train accidents occurs, but many of these reasons are associated with defective parts with the train or tracks. Several of the most common train wreck collisions occur for the following reasons:

* wide gage (defective/missing crossties)

* switch improperly lined

* transverse/compound fissure

* shoving movement, failure to control

* switch point worn or broken

* harmonic rock off

* cars left foul

* failure to comply with restricted speed

Unfortunately, many of these reasons for train wrecks can be attributed to human oversight or error. The U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Statistics reports that most rail transportation positions are entry-level jobs requiring little more than a high school diploma and little to no previous experience or employment.

Locomotive engineers are the only rail transportation professionals federally regulated by the FRA, but, as seen in the California Metrolink incident, even a locomotive engineer can cause a monumental train collision.

Brain Injury Side Effects and Treatments

While there are no known statistics on the number of brain injury victims involved in train accidents, it is important that a TBI victim be treated regardless of if they suffer from a bump on a fractured skull. Brain damaged victims often do not know that they are suffering from TBI until the side effects worsen, in which case treatment may be more difficult to administer.

All potential victims of TBI and their friends and family should watch for the following signs and symptoms of TBI. Signs of TBI can include the following, according to the Neurology Channel, which is a board-certified neurological information center developed by physicians and specialized neurologists:

* anxiety, nervousness

* impulsiveness

* inappropriate laughter

* irritability

* disinhibition

* vision impairments such as blurry/double vision

* inability to concentrate

* headache

* dizziness

* lightheadedness

* seizures

* sleep difficulties

* slurred/slowed speech

* vertigo sensations

* weakness in limbs, facial muscles

* muscle stiffness or spasms

* loss of balance

* incoordination

* dysphagia (difficulty swallowing

Suffering from a Brain Injury Caused By Train Collision

Individuals who have had the misfortune of suffering adversely because of a train wreck can find assistance in consulting a knowledgeable train wreck attorney. An experienced personal injury lawyer will be able to offer insightful information as to developing a personal injury lawsuit.

Unfortunately, medical bills associated with TBI can become very costly, very quickly.
