Alcoholism represent a state or of a person who is  suffering from alcohol dependence or from severe organic alcohol ingestion. The patient’s cells, especially brain cells, require regular doses of alcohol in order to continue to function properly. Hypnosis London can help you to get rid of this addiction.

Each individual has a different profile according to his social environment, the amount as well as the type of alcohol ingested and especially his personality. In general, it seems that these people use alcohol as a treatment, in order to calm their shyness, their emotional fragility, their difficulty or facing some other problems of life they have chosen to escape into alcohol. This is a type of behavior which provides demobilization.

Consultation with hypnosis London when it comes to a drinking problem

In this case of treatment with hypnosis, as in all the other hypnotherapy London, there should be a good doctor-patient relationship. This is a problem that is usually hidden and the person feels very guilty about it. More often than not, the doctor is the only one open about what the environment ignores or pretends to ignore.

The management of alcohol through hypnosis London focuses on:

• The behavioral aspect
• Anxiety
• The depression which usually accompany alcoholism.

From the first consultation, it is essential to know the daily life of the alcoholic. At what times does he drink? Does he drink alone or with friends? How much does he drink? What type of alcohol does he consume? This information will feed all the future therapeutic suggestions.

As with the majority of the personal items, it is possible with the consent of the patient to be addressed during the sessions. The results that are obtained by hypnosis London in alcoholism have reported a success rate that is currently approaching 30%.

The hypnosis session of alcoholism addiction usually takes place in town or in hospital, and hypnosis is done individually or in groups.

The sincere consent of the patient must be obtained, which is often not the case at the hospital where the entries are made primarily to cirrhosis, delirium tremens, liver problems. However, the majority of the experience shows that it is possible to encourage and make an alcoholic decide to join group meetings, with the hypnotic suggestions as well. Sometimes, the presence of the family who comes to visit the sick needs to be taken into account.

Next, the hypnosis London therapist needs to consider the possibility of the patient to combine drugs: vitamins, tranquilizers, alcohol antagonists, antidepressants.

The suggestions are likely:
• Relaxing: allay anxiety and build confidence.
• Aversion: Alcohol meaning disgust, and incompatibility with alcohol.
• encouraging: enhance and strengthen the decision.
• Personal: adapt the speech by following the peculiarities of each patient

The frequency of sessions of hypnosis London regarding alcohol issues must be reconciled in the first weeks. Two sessions per week represent the appropriate frequency that is needed by the hypnotherapy London specialist to judge the best strategy and adjuvant therapy.

Insomnia causes lack of sleep and it is primarily a patient’s complaint. It is a symptom that means you sleep too short, too light or in  broken lines and it is generally considered getting insufficient sleep.The interrogation and examination of the patient on hypnosis London in order to understand the insomnia is  then divided into two main groups of insomnia, according to the initial causative factor.

 The main causes for chemical, organic insomnia:

• muscle pain, bone or visceral disrupt all or part of sleep.
• Circulatory disorders of the lower limbs that are causing tingling, cramping or impatience that prevent sleep.
• Sleep Apnea that awaken the patient (8.5% of men between 40 and 65).
• Absorptions of exciting drinks like tea, coffee, alcohol, amphetamines, vitamin C.
• Abuse of sedatives, including the increased doses when the efficiency decreases.

The main causes related to thought that are provoking insomnia

• Stress from emotional or professional conflicts and before an examination or contest.
• The anxiety depression, where the insomnia is a symptom of some other manifestations of fear and anxiety.

Hypnotherapy London is indicated in the cases of insomnia that are to be integrated in the second group and you can experience the progressive withdrawal of hypnotics in these cases.

The insomnia is experienced in these cases as a desire for arousal, that is controlling everything and nothing. The intellectual hyperactivity leaves no room for respite and a well deserved rest. The chronic discomfort when sleep is no longer a refuge includes the fear of sleep, then fear not being able to sleep. Sleep deprivation eventually cause mental and physical exhaustion.

The hypnotic drugs are the cure that is the worst of all possible treatments because they are effective for sleep, but they create addiction. The patients that are moved into the certainty of sleep certainly and eventually prefer the stable imbalance that is caused by drugs in unstable equilibrium, they prefer a world without certainty to the better treatment.

Hypnosis London is a very effective therapy for any type of sleep disorders. Because of the abuse of the sleeping pills, this treatment often takes the appearance of a detoxification with all the symptoms of drug addiction that might appear. After this test, the confidence in your body will be slowly returning and the pleasure of sleeping without medication will be regained by the patient.
The technique of hypnosis London is used to relieve anxiety by suggestions of relaxation, and to realize a true rehabilitation of sleep. Hypnosis London has a kinship with falling asleep in that it requires a sensory deprivation: noise, light, temperature, and psychophysical relaxation before reaching the lethargy triggering sleep itself.

The peculiarity of the insomniac is precisely to help sleep; by obstructing a natural process, it is likely that attempts to control will definitely let go under hypnosis. The patient that is undergoing this treatment must be alert and he needs to be reminded that the suggestions will require a half-sleep in order to be effective.

anxiety over health issues
Where do I start when my anger/anxiety issues are affecting my health and relationship?

I have always had anger/anxiety issues, but recently, I have come to a point where I can no longer deal with them on my own. A friend suggested starting with a general practitioner, as I am having health issues stemming from my anger/anxiety, such as headaches, weight gain, and stomach trouble. Is this the best place to start? I’ve made an appointment for this coming Monday. What should I tell this doctor?

When to seek medical advice
Feeling shy at parties or nervous about giving a speech doesn’t necessarily mean you have social anxiety disorder. If your fears or anxieties don’t really bother you, you may not need treatment. For instance, you may not like making speeches but you do so anyway without being overwhelmed by anxiety.
What sets social anxiety disorder apart from everyday nervousness is that its symptoms are much more severe and last much longer. Social anxiety disorder disrupts your life, causes you distress and affects your daily activities.
Common, everyday experiences that may be difficult to endure when you have social anxiety disorder include:
?Using a public restroom or telephone
?Returning items to a store
?Interacting with strangers
?Writing in front of others
?Making eye contact
?Entering a room in which people are already seated
?Ordering food in a restaurant
?Being introduced to strangers
?Initiating conversations
Social anxiety disorder symptoms can change over time. They may flare up if you’re facing a lot of stress or demands. Or if you completely avoid situations that would usually make you anxious, you may not have symptoms. Although avoidance may allow you to feel better in the short term, your anxiety is likely to persist over the long term if you don’t get treatment.
Tests and diagnosis
When you decide to seek treatment for symptoms of possible social anxiety disorder, you may have both a physical and psychological evaluation. The physical exam can determine if there may be any physical causes triggering your symptoms.
There’s no laboratory test to diagnose social anxiety disorder, however. Your doctor or mental health provider will ask you to describe your signs and symptoms, how often they occur and in what situations. He or she may review a list of situations to see if they make you anxious or have you fill out psychological questionnaires or self-assessments to help pinpoint a diagnosis.
To be diagnosed with social anxiety disorder, someone must meet criteria spelled out in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM). This manual is published by the American Psychiatric Association and is used by mental health professionals to diagnose mental conditions and by insurance companies to reimburse for treatment.
Criteria for social anxiety disorder to be diagnosed include:
?A persistent fear of social situations in which you believe you may be scrutinized or act in a way that’s embarrassing or humiliating
?These social situations cause you a great deal of anxiety
?You recognize your anxiety level is excessive or out of proportion for the situation
?You avoid anxiety-producing social situations
?Your anxiety or distress interfere with your daily living

anxiety every morning
What’s least healthy: taking anxiety pills every morning or drinking a couple shots of liquor?

Negative emotions (like sadness, stress, anger, etc.) causes your Serotonin production to be low; when your Serotonin level is low, you are more prone to getting Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Depression, etc.

Medication like Antidepressants (SSRI – Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor) helps to boost Serotonin level.
But there are natural ways to do it without medication. There’s this herb called “St John’s Wort” – it is said to be more effective than Prozac. No, it is not for mild depression only and ignore those sayings. In fact, it does help anxiety and panic-attacks as St John’s Wort works like prozac. Other natural ways will be exercise, diet, more exposure to light, etc.
If you’re unable to take St John’s Wort, you can substitute it with Siberian Ginseng or Licorice Herb.

The problem is that, even if your Serotonin is balanced… you have that “learned behavior” in your mind. You need to break that initial cycle to destroy that learned behavior – Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) does this. A technique that you can use without CBT will be Distraction… There are several other techniques to help cope them!
Ok, to use Distraction: Firstly, try to….

anxiety high chicago

My mother died yesterday. She was 85 years old. A ruptured 6+ centimeter aortic aneurysm took her life subsequent to breaking a hip during a fall at her assisted living facility two days ago. I might also add that my mother suffered a stroke two and a half years ago, and was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease several years prior. Given her medical history and our knowledge of two aortic aneurysms, her passing still took us by surprise.

My mother was an extraordinary woman. She was a highly intelligent accounting professional who was always socially active and appreciated. Well, at least until the onset of Parkinson’s, as her social anxiety spiked and her social confidence plummeted. She was born in Macon, Georgia in 1923, and moved to Columbia, South Carolina with my grandparents, uncles, and aunts when she was in high school. She married my father shortly after the end of World War II and they remained husband and wife for a remarkable 62 years.

Maybe you’ve experienced this phenomenon. When I received the call from my brother yesterday morning announcing our mother’s death, I wasn’t overcome by emotion. Nor was I moved to tears. Since then I’ve spent a great deal of time ruminating over why the loss of my mother didn’t rock my world; but, frankly, I suspected all along my reaction would be as it was. Actually, I’ve asked myself numerous times since my mother’s Parkinson’s diagnosis why her declining health hasn’t caused me significant distress. I mean, this is my mother we’re talking about. Damn, I’ve known so many people over the years that were so very close to their mothers, driven to tremendous emotional upset upon news of a serious health issue or her death. So, what’s up with me?

Well, I believe a number of things come into play here. My parents built a home in suburban Columbia, South Carolina just before retiring and took residence some 20 years ago. They’d lived in a suburb of Detroit. I’ve lived in suburban Chicago for the past 23 years; and, of course, it’s very difficult to maintain a personal and thriving relationship over 850 miles. And though we enjoyed many visits together, they just weren’t sufficient to overcome the distance.

But, I believe my relationship with my mother was limited by more than just 20 years of logistic inconvenience. As great a mother as she was, she and I just never got close. Make no mistake about it, she was there for me every step of the way; however, whether it was something within me or her – both – that bond I so often envied in other mother/child relationships simply wasn’t there.

My mother was a mystery to me. Indeed, if someone were to ask me who my mother really was, I’d only be able to detail that which I, and others, observed of her on the surface. In terms of the foundation of my mother’s personality – what excited, hurt, and worried her – I really wouldn’t know. Isn’t that something? Still, I believe my mother was emotionally tormented throughout our years together.

Now, if you’ve followed my articles and blogs you know I’ve recovered from decades of panic disorder and alcoholism. I know for a fact that anxiety and mood disorders are prevalent in my mother’s family. I also know both of her brothers were substance dependent; indeed, substances led to both of their deaths. So, it seems as though, like me, my mother may have come by her demons honestly. Yet, to my knowledge my mother was never diagnosed with a psychiatric disorder and has no history of abusing substances.

Of course, one’s behavior isn’t always indicative of what’s going on deep within. And let’s forget my mother grew up prior to, and during, World War II. So you can be sure if a psychiatric situation existed, it sure wasn’t going to be openly discussed. Regardless, as I indicated earlier, I’ve known for years my mother suffered from a diagnosable anxiety disorder and situational depression. But, of no great surprise, when I’d try to discuss her emotional pathology with her, even within the context of my own woes, there was very little of substance to be learned.

Well, then. My mother was a great woman in all ways. Her intelligence, compassion, and grace were truly remarkable. Yes, she was very much the “genteel and refined” woman her southern parents raised her to be.

I don’t know that I’ll ever be moved to tears with her loss, or feel any sort of deep aching within because she’s no longer here. But, that doesn’t really matter, does it? Her’s was a great life and her legacy will live on for generations.

social anxiety forums uk

The various aspects of social psychology could be examined within the wide concepts of intelligence, gender, advertising, consumer culture, stress and psychological issues that define society. Considering consumer behaviour, social psychology uses convincing theories to explain addictive consumption, the influence of advertising and the phenomenon of purchasing. Advertising is seen as a subtle psychological manipulation as it creates desires and anxiety in the potential consumers (Papers4you.com, 2006). Advertising can have both psychological and commercial aspects including misattribution, bias, suggestibility, and could be studied from global or local perspectives. Organisational consumption is seen as different from individual consumption although generic psychological theories of human motivation such as that of Maslow and Freud can explain consumer behaviour. However consumer behaviour can also be studied in terms of the notion of quality and its relation to customer satisfaction (Silva et al, 2005). The objective measures of customer needs, pricing and expectations of the customers may have to be analysed within Service Quality or Expectations models. Hogg and Garrow (2003) highlighted on the psychological aspects of gender and the influence on consumption of advertising. Advertising has been found to be processed and interpreted differently according to gender schemas and perceptions. This would in turn relate to psychological theories of gender such as the theory of biological determinism, Freudian theory of personality development, cognitive-developmental theory, and feminist theories. Bridging the gap between gender studies and gender differences in consumption could provide us with new insights on social and psychological aspects of consumer behavior. Orth (2005) indicated that consumer behaviour largely depends on consumer personality and susceptibility to interpersonal influence, consumer situational disposition such as risk taking and curiosity, purchasing behaviour and purchasing frequency and demographic variables such as age and gender. Contemporary consumer culture could be studied in relation to an excessive emphasis on beauty and appearance and an obsession with youth, a phenomenon that has seen an increased dependence on cosmetic surgery. The increased importance of the body in the consumer culture could be studied along with the significance of appearance in modern society, the role of marketing and advertising images, and the psychological need for self-expression (Papers4you.com, 2006).

Social psychology is however focused not just on consumption and public attitudes on advertising, but also on group behaviour, general individual and collective attitudes towards various social issues including war, work, violence and quality of life. This would in turn explain how individuals deal with stress, and focus on the psychological consequences of stress. Although psychological disorders may in some cases be a direct result of social stress, deviant behaviour in society could be explained with the help of several theories such as the theory of subcultures by Parker, the structural strain theory by Merton, or the theory of conformity. Social psychology is thus focused on explaining a wide range of issues from advertising and consumer behavior to public attitudes on social issues and antisocial behaviour.

anxiety is taking over my life

Social Anxiety Disorder. It can make life very lonely . It is a crippling fear of being humiliated in everyday life . People with this disease fear that the way that they behave

will lead to being judged negatively by others and they know that it doesn’t make sense.

Almost everyone has some small social anxiety here and there.But people with social anxiety

don’t really have a social life. They are afraid to go to school,they will avoid making new

friends and they will miss advancement in their careers or jobs. Some will even avoid going

out to eat or a movie, avoid using the pubic restrooms,and writing in front of others. Some of the triggers for social anxiety are being introduced to other people,being made fun

of, having to speak in front of others,looking another in the eye,being introduced to others

in authority like the new boss,being observed while doing a job,and beiing the center of

attention.While people with social anxiety know that the fears they have are ridiculous, they still can’t help feeling that the fears are real and allow it to control their lives. Their tthought patterns are thoroughly negative and are ooften overwhelming like “I’ll look dumb” oor “I’m boring” and “They’ll think I’m strange” etc. It is very common and affects millions of americans making it the 3rd most common mental

disorder. It is an equal opportunist affecting men as well as women in the same amount of

numbers where depression affects many more women than men. Teenagers and young adults are very

likely to experience social anxiety because they are trying to fit in and they are worried about their image they project to others.A few times it can be seen in kids under 12. If they haven’t outgrown it by age 12 then they are known to grow up to be the same way as adults.

Kids are worried that the teacher will call their name in class, writing on the board,talking to adults etc.They will complain of stomach aches, be sweaty and have headaches and not want to go to school. Social Anxiety has a lot of symptoms associated with it. Heart going a 100 miles an hour,trembling and shaking, upset stomach,diarrhea, can’t talk, sweating alot and fear that others will notice your fear symptoms and fear of being judged by others. These are severe and can be so disabling that they disrupt a person’s life . Experts have said that some of the biological causes of social anxiety could be genetics. Some babies show behavior where they are upset by things that are not familiar to them and then they grow up that way.There is a part of the brain that controls fear response and it is

over stimulated in people that have social anxiety.Another theory is that the brain chemicals are out of balance. Some other theories are it is learned from interacting with others who have the disease like social anxiety ridden parents or children who get bullied in school or are teased alot.Also trauma that may have happened when a person was young or they weren’t able to form bonds with their parents as babies so they can’t calm themselves down or focus in troubling situations. Treating social anxiety has many facets to it . One therapy is exposing the person gradually to the fear until they no longer percieve it as a threat and another treatment is cognitive behavior therapy which says that your own thoughts not others or situations control your behavior.Certain meds are available to help also . There are antidepressants like zoloft and

paxil. Also valium and Xanax which are enzodiazepines but they can be addictive.Long term life style changes can also be incorporated into a person’s life . Shallow breathing and

positive self talk can reduce social anxiety.Joining support groups and taking a social skills class will also put a person back on the fast track to having a great social life.

speech anxiety statistics

Copyright (c) 2008 Katie Kelley

The recent California train accident in which several died and dozens were injured puts into question the safety surrounding trains as a leading transportation. According to statistics from the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) Office of Safety Analysis a 13.3 percent jump can be determined during a three-year period.

There is an increase of this figure after the California Metrolink train accident in September 2008, which killed at least 25 and injured 135 individuals.

One of the common injuries that can likely occur during a train accident is that of a traumatic brain injury (TBI). Approximately 5 million Americans are currently diagnosed with TBI, but the number of train wreck-induced TBI injuries is currently unaccounted for.

There have been more than 10,000 train accidents reported within the last three years, according to statistics derived from the FRA. The most train accidents have been found to occur in Texas, followed closely by Illinois, California, Nebraska, Ohio and Kansas.

Individuals who have been involved in a train wreck know that the severity of injuries suffered can range from fractured bones to brain damage, which can severely impact an individual?life. There is a wide range of TBI side effects that can occur and the severity of this injury should not be taken lightly. If an individual is involved in a train wreck and may suffer from TBI, they should consult a medical professional as well as legal counsel immediately to protect themselves.

Reasons for Train Wrecks

According to the FRA there can be several hundred reasons as to why a train accidents occurs, but many of these reasons are associated with defective parts with the train or tracks. Several of the most common train wreck collisions occur for the following reasons:

* wide gage (defective/missing crossties)

* switch improperly lined

* transverse/compound fissure

* shoving movement, failure to control

* switch point worn or broken

* harmonic rock off

* cars left foul

* failure to comply with restricted speed

Unfortunately, many of these reasons for train wrecks can be attributed to human oversight or error. The U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Statistics reports that most rail transportation positions are entry-level jobs requiring little more than a high school diploma and little to no previous experience or employment.

Locomotive engineers are the only rail transportation professionals federally regulated by the FRA, but, as seen in the California Metrolink incident, even a locomotive engineer can cause a monumental train collision.

Brain Injury Side Effects and Treatments

While there are no known statistics on the number of brain injury victims involved in train accidents, it is important that a TBI victim be treated regardless of if they suffer from a bump on a fractured skull. Brain damaged victims often do not know that they are suffering from TBI until the side effects worsen, in which case treatment may be more difficult to administer.

All potential victims of TBI and their friends and family should watch for the following signs and symptoms of TBI. Signs of TBI can include the following, according to the Neurology Channel, which is a board-certified neurological information center developed by physicians and specialized neurologists:

* anxiety, nervousness

* impulsiveness

* inappropriate laughter

* irritability

* disinhibition

* vision impairments such as blurry/double vision

* inability to concentrate

* headache

* dizziness

* lightheadedness

* seizures

* sleep difficulties

* slurred/slowed speech

* vertigo sensations

* weakness in limbs, facial muscles

* muscle stiffness or spasms

* loss of balance

* incoordination

* dysphagia (difficulty swallowing

Suffering from a Brain Injury Caused By Train Collision

Individuals who have had the misfortune of suffering adversely because of a train wreck can find assistance in consulting a knowledgeable train wreck attorney. An experienced personal injury lawyer will be able to offer insightful information as to developing a personal injury lawsuit.

Unfortunately, medical bills associated with TBI can become very costly, very quickly.

anxiety about college
how to get over anxiety about college?

I definitely did not have a good experience in high school. i’m extremely shy and anxious about starting college in about 12 days and i don’t know how it will be. i have one early morning class, 2 afternoon classes, and a night class. i’d feel more comfortable knowing that most people go and don’t care and only go for the classes. anybody with college experience that can help me answer my ?? about college and what it is like?

can’t take anxiety medications b/c of possible pregnancy

Thats one heckuva schedule! Did you register late?

Most college students are more concerned with the classes, their tests, and stuff like that. Night classes usually have more adults who work all day, have families, and really do not pay too much attention to the typical nonsense of HS.

Relax, this is a new place for you with a chance to remake yourself. It is a fresh start. You will make new friends, study hard, and somehow survive.

I agree that the anti-anxiety meds are a bad idea (possible pregnancy aside). Find other ways to cope: meditate, exercise, do yoga (they have classes like that in college) and eat healthy.

Hang in there and above all: RELAX!!!
