anxiety app for iphone

The iPhone, being a revolutionary handset, has enforced radical changes in how people use cell phones. Also, it has become a key to a virtual gold mine wherein independent iPhone app developers can earn millions of dollars.

The Apple application store had been distinct and at the same time tumultuous because it had post changes in the way the mobile applications are delivered and developed. It had made an open market wherein developers can turn from rags to riches and earn money with minimal resources, as long as they have the talent and the luxury of time.

Apple has brought down the roadblocks to entry when it comes to creating iPhone applications. Although Apple will carry out 30% of the total sales, they will be responsible in providing the sales, development platforms, billing and distribution. This will then allow the developers to fully concentrate on the things they love or doing best without having the anxiety about the distribution, marketing and setting up payments.

After its launching on July 2008, the Apple Store had become a source of a developer’s dream to come to a reality. For instance, Steve Demeter, the developer of the popular iPhone game called Trism had declared that he had attained $250,000 profit in only two months time. He had a few people helping him whom he had paid $500 each. If the flow continues at this rate, Demeter will roughly earn $2 million by the end of next year.

Bart Decrem, CEO of Tapulous, had developed a free application called the Tap Tap Revenge which is a music-rhythm game that employs the use of the iPhone’s accelerometer and touch screen features had attain a milestone of a total of 1,000,000 downloads in two  weeks time after its launching. An estimated of 1.75 million users have downloaded the game, Tap Tap Revenge and Decrem expects to double it in the next months. To gain more profits, the company Tapulous had inserted advertisements in the game. In the near future, the company plans to release a new version for them to earn more money. Moreover, Decrem had been silent to disclose the exact profit money, but the estimated earning of the iPhone application that his company is earning about $5,000 to $10,000 daily.

For the above two developers, according to them, the recipe to success is paying attention to every detail, keeping the application alive and engaging in variety of game play and at the same time, spreading popularity. You must come up with the generic idea and implement it properly in order for you to stand out. Both Trism and Tap Tap Revenge was initially become known in the Jailbreak community and it call forth a loyal coming before it was launched in the Application store for a broader market. Both the developers of this application look at the App store to be an exciting landscape to enjoy and at the same time earn. They have been considered themselves as big fishes in the pond that have future plans in emerging in the iPhone applications market.

anxiety thermometer

Fast anxiety relief is now entirely possible and predictable inthe comfort of your home if you have the right information and resouces. Anxiety is a perfectly natural response to a perceived threatening situation, and it is inbred and rightly so for our survival. The problem arises when our bodily reaction is disproportionate to the event and so the fight or flight response kicks in and we experience panic. The Amygdala is a small almond sized organ within the brain that is if you like our anxiety thermometer. Its natural state from birth is to be in calm mode and alert us to high anxiety state only in appropriate perhaps life threatening situations, when fight or flight is definitely the required action. It will normally dissipate after the threat has gone and will revert to calm mode.

However if we have suffered a prolonged period of high anxiety, this can affect the setting of the Amygdala, which can then recognise high anxiety as the default position on its gauge. This is not good news for the sufferer because as the external threat subsides the anxious feelings remain and become part of our everyday life. They of course inhibit us and steal the quality of our lives. So we consult our doctor, who prescribes medication and perhaps counseling all of which is good stuff and addresses some symptoms, but when it is all finished our Amygdala still tells us that a feeling of high anxiety is our default emotional response. So everyone is telling you not to worry, to calm down, because all is well, and they are all well meaning, but the fact is that your brain is sending signals to your body telling it something totally different, and until you start addressing the cause rather than just the symptoms, very little is going to change.

Now all is not lost because there is a way forward. Any fast anxiety cure must address the anxiety at its source in the subconscious mind rather than attempt to superficially change behaviours or try to address symptoms through so drug therapies or psychotherapy in isolation.

A natural drug and therapy free anxiety cure is available which allows the sufferer to recover quickly and permanently using a simple and comfortable anxiety treatment method that you can safely and easily use at home.
This method will quickly retrain and reset your Amygdala to its previous calm mode, and your life will no longer be inhibited and spoiled by inappropriate anxiety responses. The system is proven and endorsed by the medical profession, so you can be confident that the end of your pain is in sight, and you can now claim your peace and freedom permanently.

Wishing you much peace and freedom.

anxiety eye pain

Insomnia is an epidemic afflicting the majority of the population at some time or another. It affects our mood and impairs physical and mental performance.

For some, the mere thought of not being able to get to sleep gives them insomnia. For others, sleeplessness is a debilitating symptom of wider conditions like depression, stress, anxiety, chronic pain or the menopause. Sleep deprived new parents often struggle with the pressures of looking after a baby who keeps them awake night after night. It’s difficult to get things done when you’re physically and emotionally exhausted.

We know that there are different levels of sleep and that REM sleep, or the ‘rapid eye movement’ state in which we dream, is important for our mental health. Sleep deprivation is a recognised form of torture as well as a fast route to madness.

Insomnia is both the cause and effect of many common maladies of modern life. Lack of sleep can be a trigger for emotional breakdown as well as causing accidents and impairing performance. As a symptom it exacerbates the associated condition, perpetuating the downward spiral of, for example, depression or anxiety.

Sometimes, insomnia is simply the result of a broken routine. There are lots of common external factors. There are as many cures as there are causes of insomnia and it can often be overcome without resorting to medication. But it is still important to see a doctor to ensure there are no underlying health issues to be dealt with.

Hypnotherapy is often seen as a last resort after all else fails when, in fact, just going through the process of learning self-hypnosis is a big step in the right direction. As we fall asleep and wake up we enter ‘hypnogogic’ and ‘hypnopompic’ states of hypnosis quite naturally. These are brief phases where brain function changes during the transition into deeper sleep states.

Once in hypnosis, subconscious patterns of disrupted or disturbed sleep behaviour can be adjusted with the help of a good practitioner to suit the lifestyle and expectations of the most long-suffering insomniac.

The key to success, whatever method used to bring and end to the distress of sleepless nights, is to find a practitioner who will assess individual circumstances and treat accordingly rather than offer an arbitrary catch-all remedy. It is important to bear in mind that, even after putting up with the misery of sleep loss for years, it’s never to late to do something about it.

There are a number of practical ’sleep hygiene’ measures which help re-establish a healthy pattern.

Set a schedule: Go to bed at a set time each night and get up at the same time each morning. Disrupting this schedule may lead to insomnia. Don’t have a lie-in at the weekends. You’ll be tired on Morning.

Exercise:

Try to exercise 20 to 30 minutes a day. Daily exercise often helps people sleep, although a workout soon before bedtime may interfere with sleep. For maximum benefit, exercise about 5 to 6 hours before going to bed.

Avoid caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol:

Avoid drinks that contain caffeine, which acts as a stimulant and keeps people awake. Stimulants like caffeine can be found in certain food, drinks and prescription or over the counter drugs. Smokers tend to sleep very lightly and often wake up in the early morning due to nicotine withdrawal. Booze impairs the quality of sleep.

Relax before bed:

A warm bath, reading, or another relaxing routine can make it easier to fall sleep. You can train yourself to associate certain restful activities with sleep and make them part of your bedtime ritual.

Sleep until sunlight:

If possible, wake up with the sun, or use very bright lights in the morning. Sunlight helps the body’s internal biological clock reset itself each day.

Don’t lie in bed worrying: The anxiety of being unable to fall asleep can actually contribute to insomnia. Distract yourself with a book until you feel sleepy.

Control your room temperature: Maintain a comfortable temperature in the bedroom. Extreme temperatures may disrupt sleep or prevent you from falling asleep.

Replace an uncomfortable or old bed:

Saggy, lumpy beds can aggravate back pain as well as keeping you awake.

Block out noise:

Wear ear plugs if you live in a noisy street, flight path or your partner snores.

Turn it off:

Keep televisions and computer games and out of the bedroom if you want to unwind.

Herbal solution:

If you have trouble falling asleep night after night, use a herbal remedy to break the cycle.

See your doctor:

You may be ill if you’re always tired. Tiredness can be an early symptom of a variety of illnesses.

Learn self hypnosis:

A good hypnotherapist will teach you a variety of relaxation techniques to enable you, with practice, to fall asleep quickly and sleep soundly through the night. They will also help you cope which any contributory factors like stress or anxiety.

anti anxiety pregnancy

A health watchdog has said that GPs and midwives need to do more to spot the signs of depression in pregnant women and new mothers. The National Institute for health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) has also said that women with anxiety or eating disorders also to be identified.

The guidance was welcomed by mental health experts as one in seven women experience a mental health disorder at some point in pregnancy or after the birth. Currently only around 30% are being diagnosed with mental health issues during or after pregnancy. The mental health problems that pregnant women and new women are at risk of include depression, anxiety, eating disorders and severe mental health conditions such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.

Dr Steve Pilling, a consultant clinical psychologist who worked on the guidance by NICE said that there was “very significant under-recognition” of mental health issues in pregnancy. NICE has advised that healthcare staff dealing with pregnant women or new mothers ask three questions during ante or postnatal checks:

- Have you felt down, depressed or hopeless during the last month?
- Have you been bothered by having little interest or pleasure in doing things?
- Is this something you feel you need or want help with?

The NICE guidance goes on to say that women needing psychological treatment should normally be seen within one month and no longer than three months after an initial assessment.

Treatment for women with such problems may include counselling or anti-depressants, with the health worker explaining how medication may affect breastfeeding. Those who worked on the guidance have stressed the importance of using it to identify women who may be scared to ask for help for fear as being labelled as a “bad mother” or having their children taken away from them. They have also warned that leaving mental illness untreated could have consequences for both mother and child, including poor educational performance for the child and anxiety.

Dr Gillian Leng, who led the team which compiled the guidance, said: “This is not just about helping women get through the ‘baby blues’ – we are looking at all types of mental health disorders and distinguishing the ups and downs of everyday life for more serious conditions.”

Fiona Shaw, a patient who also helped draft the guidelines, told how she was admitted to a mental health unit after the birth of her second daughter. She was not eating and was self-harming but had been told by her doctor to either take anti-depressants and stop breastfeeding or just “grin and bear it”. She added: “Many women are concerned they will not be listened to if they come forward, or that they will be judged, or that their condition is not serious enough to warrant help from a healthcare professional.”

Paul Farmer, chief executive of mental health charity Mind, said: “We welcome these guidelines, which look to be a very promising start. The challenge, as always, will be ensuring that they are implemented. Parents deserve the very best support at the start of their child’s life. The resources to make these excellent guidelines a reality must be available, otherwise they risk becoming little more than a wish-list.”

social anxiety yahoo

The recent market conditions and massive lay-off’s  has caused many of my friends to reconsider their career paths.  Recently several of my friends asked me about my business as a virtual assistant.  I told them that a Virtual Assistant is someone who offers his or her expertise to a specific target audience on an hourly basis or a monthly retainer fee.  A Virtual Assistant is administrative at it’s foundation, but a person can specialize in event planning, website design, content/copy writing, internet marketing and advertising, or as an Online Business Manager. A Virtual Assistant is a business owner and not an employee or contractor.

When a client decides to purchase my services, they do not have to worry about purchasing new equipment ( laptop, printer, etc.); pay my taxes nor provide me health benefits.  This is strictly a professional relationship, hopefully a long lasting, collabortive one.

My friends expressed a tremendeous amount of anxiety about quitting their jobs, and felt alittle uneasy about becoming a Virtual Assistant business owner.  My recommendation for anyone is to KEEP your day job, but to leverage your time and finances to get your ducks lined up in a row:

  1. Assess your current skills
  2. Take a Myers Briggs Test and understand your working style
  3. Review your resume and write down the common theme – which will tell you what you love to do (and don’t like to do)
  4. Write down the type of work you enjoy – tailor it towards a particular type of client: this can be a coach, speaker, event planner; online business (retail) owner, real estate, legal, marketing, public relations or advertising
  5. Get plugged in with at least 1-3 virtual assistant sites such as: IVAA.org or VACOC.com.  These sites offer resources and list seasoned and professional VA’s who are very helpful and insightful
  6. You still need to get some kind of training or coaching, because it will help your “mind-set” when you transition to becoming a business owner.  There are a number of resources and Virtual Assistant training available through AssistU, EA to VA by Sydni Craig-Hart, or  Virtual Assistant Training by Patty Benton, JERPAT; Hot Skills VA and VA Classroom have excellent self-directed courses on E-commerce, Internet Marketing, Social Media Marketing, and Blog for Marketing
  7. I highly advise training in internet marketing, social media marketing and ecommerce – even if you don’t want to offer these services to your clients, you will want to apply some of these tools to your own business
  8. Once you get through at least 6 months of training and certification courses then you will want to hire someone to build and design your website offering your services; submit your URL  to directories such as Yahoo, Google, and BING; Virtual Assistant directories, and sites like Ning, BizNik, E-cademy, LinkedIn and as social networking sites.

I highly recommend that you hire a Virtual Assistant who specializes in website build and design who can whip out a tasteful, classy website that will reflect your personality, professionalism and attract the right type of clients. Their prices are affordable and because they’ve “been there and done that”, would be able to provide you excellent advice about your site.

anxiety self help dvd

It’s a tradition that could be especially helpful in the wake of the recession, as people work to overcome the potentially devastating psychological effects associated with layoffs, foreclosures and the loss of businesses.

Fortunately, Americans have come together to help one another–statistics from the Corporation for National & Community Service show that Americans recently contributed 8 billion volunteer-service hours. But many have found ways to help themselves as well. Now, a well-known book could provide a few new solutions to help even morae people do just that.

Called “Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health,” it was written by L. Ron Hubbard in 1950. Since then, it has been on 116 best-seller lists for more than 1,060 weeks, making it the all-time “best-seller on the mind,” with over 20 million copies sold. For the first time, it’s available with a DVD illustrating the full theory and practice of the innovative Dianetics self-help procedure.

It illustrates how the painful experiences of our past affect our present. But to what extent and why? Drawn directly from the pages of the book, these films reveal how negative experiences in the past cause the mind to depart from rational thought and behavior–without awareness.

The films teach how to use a precise Dianetics procedure to locate these past experiences that are troubling and eliminate their negative effects. Just because a painful incident from the past isn’t remembered doesn’t mean it isn’t causing severe difficulty, upset or pain today.

Based on Hubbard’s work, it introduces simple techniques Hubbard developed to handle what he considered the “source of one’s fears, anxieties, self-doubts and stresses.”

The book is available in 50 languages, and the DVD is available in 16. Hubbard is one of the most widely read authors in the world, with over 200 million copies of his works in circulation and 19 New York Times Best-sellers. He is also recognized by the “Guinness Book of World Records” for having the most published works by a single author and the most audiobook titles on Earth. His works comprise some 5,000 writings and 3,000 recorded lectures.
