Ok, I am now 30 weeks pregnant and I’ve already had breathing problems (I have partially paralyzed lung) before I got pregnant…now I know it is common for it to be hard to breath when pregnant as this is my second child but what I am wondering….I feel like I can’t breath and it sends me into panic attacks which if any of you have had a panic attack knows that it doesn’t help the breathing much…My question…does anyone know any breathing exercises (yoga, personal…etc) that may help cut back on my panic attacks?

how do i deal with anxiety while driving with an instructor?
he always reminds me that its not a test and he’s just the teacher. but i still get so nervous, and i feel like im having an attack. he just keeps reminding me to relax and breathe. it doesn’t really work. is there anything else i could do to relax when im driving with my drivers ed instructor?
I was terrified of learning to drive. I assume it’s the driving, not the instructor, that makes you nervous? If it’s the instructor, you have to be really honest about why and let him know if there’s something you need him to change – maybe not try to make conversation with you, or maybe to do just that, whatever it is that bothers you.
If it’s anxiety about the driving, try working on it when you’re not actually driving. You can sit in the family car (when it’s not running) or just in a chiar at home and, with your eyes closed, visualize yourself driving around town. Go through this slowly and in detail, seeing in your mind’s eye the traffic lights, stopping, turning, the signs, pedestrians, maneuvering into a parking space, etc. Feel it or even make the steering and acceleration/braking motions with your hands.and feet. imagine yourself as feeling relaxed and comfortable, driving as easily as your parents do. Copy their motions in your mind’s eye. Do this every day for 15 or 20 minutes.
For your lessons, get enough sleep beforehand, so you’re fully awake and alert. You’ll find everything goes more smoothly this way. Don’t use caffeine, as that increases jumpiness and anxiety.
About taking those breaths: They need to be long, slow and deep. Try for 4-5 of them before saying they don’t work. Relax your belly when you do the deep breaths.
If you’re at all a believer in God, you can think something like, God will be my co-pilot until I can do this on my own.
Eventually, practice will give you confidence and you’ll relax just naturally.
Help with a psychology question re: anxiety/depression?
Discuss and evaluate 3 therapeutic techniques for the treatment of depression/anxiety.
Ok am getting myself all in a muddle – how would you approach the above question. I think I’m confusing myself with therapeutic techniques and the different perspectives on mental disorders. I was thinking of starting off like this:
Discuss what anxiety/mood disorders are and what are the symptoms…Discuss the current popular generalised, eclectic approach to the treatment of mental disorders, combining aspects of different approaches. Refer to Acierno et al (1993) about a combination of therapies benefitting panic disorder sufferers.
Then I get stuck! I’m not sure what is expected…do I now discuss 3 types of therapy? If so any suggestions? Should I be discussing any of the actual mental illnesses?
To clarify I have a two hour exam next week – 50 MCQ’s and two essay questions – of which this is one which I am preparing for, so I’d guess I have 1/2 hr for this question!
Having done Year 12 Psychology last year, my advice would be to give a brief description of anxiety/depression and then say something like “there are a number of different techniques used to treat these conditions, such as…”
Then describe the first and evaluate it, describe the second and evaluate it, and describe the third and evaluate it.
Discuss is fairly similar to describe in exam situations.
Make sure you are direct in answering the question being asked – this is especially important when you are in an exam and have a limited amount of time!
Good luck with your exams

Does anyone know the methods of adjustment with panic attacks / anxiety?
I am now 16 years old who suffer from anxiety notice severe or panic disorder since I was 13. I tried everything, from 8 different drugs to acupuncture biofeedback. I see a theripist twice a week and I'm taking Cymbalta. Me changed schools and my current grades, relationships, and my life was greatly affected quilaty. I really want my life back, if anyone has suggestions or anything I really appreciate it a lot. Thank you.
One answer I read on, "if you believe that more is more peaceful calm." Although this is a good idea, as a former panic attack patient when it comes to think more calmly as the panic even more because you know that int the back of his mind there crazy chest pains and numbness in the arm that can not be explained. Even if they do not explain what matter because they continue to worsen. Moreover they feel that they are all the time and it becomes frustrating. At 16 I really was opposed to drugs for the brain is only the development and introduction of a chemical that messes with the adoption and reuptake of neurotransmitters sounds dangerous to me. Add to this study, Eli Lilly said that patients in clinical trials treated with Cymbalta for GAD has been a 46% improvement in symptoms of anxiety, compared with 32% for those taking placebo, as measured by the Hamilton Anxiety Scale. "First, Exactly how do you measure anxiety? Hamilton Anxiety Scale was created 50 years and has been used in the study in 2007, makes no sense to me with all progress in recent years. In addition, this system uses an object that allows the base interviewer. Now that I've gotten out of the way, I realized comments you mentioned that bio is everything you've tried? I know you go to a therapist twice a week, what are you doing here? To be honest, Basic information is really useful and not even truly accepted by health professionals because there is no proof that it works to try something. If you time I recommend you start writing in a newspaper if it does not. Focusing on the moments where you have very bad anxiety. Write down what happens before and after experiencing a seizure Panic in the next and see if you can connect to an event occurs. This can take months or even years, but it is something that causes anxiety, but it is necessary for introspection and belief. Studies show that people who are very passive tend to anxiety and that, essentially, that the world march in the feet and never do anything with the confidence to solve problems or dealing with difficult situations. If you have any problem must be attacked with aggression, we must, I think you'll agree, just hard work to understand what they need to grow and prosper and try to focus less on symptoms of anxiety because you never can hurt. Yo, I'm sure you've done after the anxiety that is three years.

I see that you could have a case of agoraphobia (fear of social situations – classified as a disease and the need for research). Try to introduce situations that you are not comfortable, but taking baby steps. For example, if you do not like their account in public, take a group of people and go somewhere, the achievement of the key triggers that make you uncomfortable. Each time you go home, coach trying to overcome the feeling. So next time you go to reduce the number of people take you and do it again. Reward yourself along the way to the progress, over time begin to feel comfortable. Sounds like you need to work on their self-esteem as well. Try to think of good things about yourself and remember those things when in uncomfortable situations. If you can not think of something, ask friends to help you with that! Good luck and I hope that helps.

Anxiety Disorder Symptoms & Treatments : What is a Panic Disorder?
How can you cope with panic attacks every day …….. which sometimes causes sometimes unexpectedly. I find it difficult to focus and concentrate. Staying busy helps, but I would have to invent things to stay busy.
Emotions negative (like sadness, stress, anger, etc.) makes the production of serotonin to be low, when their serotonin levels are low, it is more likely to get the anxiety, panic attacks, depression, etc. as antidepressant drugs (SSRIs – selective serotonin reuptake) helps raise serotonin levels. But there are ways natural to do it without drugs. There's this strange herb called "St John's Wort" – it says more effective than Prozac. No, not for mild depression only and spend ignore these words. In fact, so does the anxiety and panic attacks as St John's Wort works like Prozac. Other natural ways will be exercise, diet, increased light exposure, etc. The problem is that even if it is balanced serotonin … make that "learned behavior in your mind. We need to break that initial cycle to destroy that learned behavior – Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) does this. One technique you can use CBT without being a distraction … There are several other techniques to help treat! Ok, to use Distraction: Firstly, try …. Extract from the Source.
T we still have physical symptoms of anxiety, but drugs?
I started Lexapro a week ago for depression and also began clonazepam .5 mg at night for anxiety symptoms. The thing is that I am never nervous or anxious, I'm sick of feeling sick, I feel nausea, imbalance, dizziness and poor, Even worse sometimes for no reason at all. the doctor can not find anything physically wrong and have been attributed to anxiety. Clonazepam has helped a little, but still I feel nausea and diarrhea and makes me literally sleep for 18 hours a day. MAT-I had no proof so as gastroscopy or endoscopy, only in the blood, urine and feces. Do you have physical symptoms like anyone even so, even when the drugs? What should I do, I can not stand this. i havent been able to go to work and I care a baby. any advice is much appreciated.
If. I had these problems when I started. Clonazepam knock you out. When I was necessary for me at least 20 hours. Why your doctor has prescribed for you at night. You may be able to take your clonazepem soon as you would normally help a little. As someone said before me, it is best to get out and walk or find some way of doing it yourself is up. Nothing to bring your energy back. And to help your nausea, you may want to try some chamomile or something to help. Hot tea works well too. Hope I helped.

OK, this might seem strange, but oh well. I tried to meditate on a regular basis to clear my head, increased more attention and have a little more control during panic attacks, had more often lately. I'm kind of new to the whole thing, then maybe this is normal, I dunno, but when I meditate I get such a notice strange "sensation, is like me and my body are two separate beings. that feels almost like my mind and consciousness is the "true self" and my body is a kind of puppet being controlled by me. I think my question is is this normal? Does someone else has that kind of feeling too?
You and your body are two things. This is normal and the fact that we're not used to feel that way. We locked in the premises. I would not worry about it. If you have any questions, you can send me an email from my Yahoo account.
