anxiety hypochondria
Anxiety/hypochondria?

I am a 24 year old male. I take care of myself, although I could lose some weight. I work some odd hours, but generally am heathful. I always get rest.

I have a great girlfriend, I make a lot of money, and I have a shattered but not so bad family life. I dont understand why I constantly worry about the damdest things. My job is unstable yes, but I should have no concern about losing my job, but I worry. I worry about my health incessantly. I always think I have diabetes or colon cancer. I was surrounded by sick people my whole life, so I know thats a factor.

What can I do to make this stop. I goto the doctors all the time (and sometimes I do have problems, who doesnt) but a lot of times they dismiss me as worrysome.

What should I do? I dont know how much more my gf will take

Have you considered seeking out a therapist who is familiar with anxiety disorders?

I’ve found that a therapist can help uncover underlying assumptions, beliefs and attitudes we have about ourselves that may produce thinking patterns that interfere with our lives. Catastrophic thought patterns can cause fear and thus generate anxiety symptoms.

A therapist can help you navigate through these patterns and learn new ways of thinking that are positive and productive.
