anxiety amygdala
If the amygdala in the brain can cause anxiety, why can’t sufferers just have it removed?

It is thought this part is the nerve centre for all fears and panics, so why not get it removed. They can help people with parkinson’s etc, so why not that?

Hello there,
The amygdala can be removed and are occasionally as a treatment for certain severe types of epilepsy. Their function is complex and associated with emotional learning and recognising emotional responses in other people. Removing them is not something to do at all casually. Good luck.
