anxiety guru
Need help linking symptoms together, What might I have? Have a long wait for Dr. Appt… and…?

Research a combination of Symptoms… What might I have?
I can’t find anything that would tie all of these symptoms together: I MIGHT even paypal someone a few bucks to the best if they don’t just go copy from obvious medical sites. I could do that myself and I’ve been to most of them. It may take some cross research or a google guru. I used to party hardy so I imagine I did some damage in all of those years. Plz try to include ALL symptoms.

1. Thin, Brittle, Yellow-ish Nails with Vertical Small Vertical Ridges (Fingers)
2. Abdominal Swelling
3. Frequent Urination (new)
4. EXTREMELY DRY FEET (new)
5. LEGS/FEET/HANDS splotchy dark red/purple-ish when cold or no reason. KNEES always very dark red!
6. Palms of hands always red.
7. Thinning/Dry Hair
8. Fatigue- Hypersomnia (too much sleep) or Insomnia
9. Anxiety/Forgetful
10. Myoclonic jerks (muscle jerks while resting or falling asleep)

Stats:
Lady/Smoker/Recently Quit Drinking/ NEVER Drugs,

When was the last time your doctor did a blood work up? It sounds like a thyroid issue, possibly diabetes, maybe lymphedema or vein problems added, would need to know more like what tests you had, when you last had them etc.

The brittle yellow nails can come from lymphedema and thyroid but also smoking. the abdominal swelling can be fluid retention or possibly kidney problems. The red splotches indicate circulation issues along with palms, and the muscle spasms while resting would indicate a possible restless leg syndrome.

What you need is a complete blood work up to include thyroid T3 and T4 levels, diabetes and organ tests, and based on that, a urine culture, if you have not had a female exam in awhile get one to rule out cysts which can cause abdominal swelling and pressure on veins. Might need a pelvic ultrasound too, veinogram to rule out venous insufficiency and then go from there based on the results.

To me, I can’t diagnosis but it sounds like vein problems, coupled with thyroid issues, but need to rule out organ problems and female too.

The T3 or T4 levels even if they are normal or low end normal might not be normal for you as we are all individuals. The range might be 21-50 and you are 20, that’s low and the dr might not consider it to be bad but it could be bad for yo uso you need to see the test results and go over them with him.

Poop anxiety on a toddler? Anyone?

I am in the process of potty training my 23 month old daughter. She has been doing AWESOME so far. Only problem, I think she has some sort of “poop anxiety” or so I call it. She goes poop on the potty occasionally, but only after a big ordeal and sitting there forever. She keeps pooping in her pants instead. Is this normal, how do I make her not afraid to go poop on the big girl potty?

It is normal, when she finally goes make a big deal and tell her that the poopie is going home, make her say goodbye to poop. That worked with my son, the only way he would poop in the toilet. May be gross but it works. The more you make it a game the better it would work.

My and my ex wife even made up a song for it.

anxiety test taking
How do I lessen my test-taking anxiety?

I have a problem with test-taking anxiety, particularly for standardized tests like the SAT. I will be taking the SAT soon, and since it’s such an important test, I’m worried that I will have some really bad anxiety because of it. Sometimes I feel really nauseous when I take a big test and it makes it impossible for me to focus on what I’m doing. How can I prevent this?

Thank you!

One way to lessen your test anxiety is not to study the day before the test and the day of the test. That reduces nervousness.

More information is below.

anxiety in children medication
Is that the anti-anxiety medication is best for me?

I am in my thirty years and for years I have been dealing with anxiety and anger. Now I have a toddler and I'm not being frustrated with him. I tried Wellbutrin in the past and side effects were horrible. My family has a history of problems anxiety and would like the opinions of others on this issue. I'm going to the doctor next week and wants to find out information before the appointment. Thank you!

try Xanax or Valium, but only take it when absolutely necessary and take the lowest dose possible, as both can be addictive if misused

What causes Halucinations? (In addition to drugs or alcohol)?

I was having a hallucination month or two, and I wonder by what causes it? I have a severe anxiety disorder, and most of them I ended up having a panic attack in the hallucination, or waking up with a panic attack. And no, this is not just sleep walk, walk aroudn in them, however. I am seeing things that arent there. Once I saw mud dumped all my countertops and father looked at me as if I halucinated (couldnt sleep) and I cried "mama's gonna kill me when she sees this mess And I will always remember these things to see and do when I woke up the next day, and his shame, because it is same thing happened to a friend's house and while I halucinating frinds told my father that I couldnt sleep do because the game was everywhere in the hall (seriously told me that)

go see a psychiatrist, perhaps you have something that can be solved by certain medications, with the exception of hallucinations, and anxiety and panic attacks, you should not leave without pay.

anxiety drugs for children
I have anxiety and fear "?

When I started having problems when 8 years ago. I am a man. I had a parent with problems mental health when Growning UP has been difficult to treat as a child. Everything was pretty normal for me Through my twenty years until my marriage started to fall Hill, divorce and former member of the family there. It was devistating. I started having anxiety and fear of going to work. My heart will fluctuate and my breathing agitated. I started to have allergies to pollen, too. I went to the Docters and told me I have anxiety. You can not even feel comfortable in public or social situation. I tried one after the other SSRIs and other medications for anxiety 6 different not worse or no side effects were too bad. I have tried exercise, breathing, bvitamins, but still seems that its always just going to be there. Dred makes me go to a store to the point that I avoid because they do not run into anyone I know. Ive been off the pill almost 2 years now. Any suggestions?

Do you have panic attacks? Those who are different from anxiety. Anxiety disorders are so intense that feelling a person is unable to funtion from day to day basis today. Panic attacks are periods of intense fear and physical discomfort, in which a person feels overwhelmed and frightened by a sense of great body that makes a person feel out of control. Some symptoms are a pounding heart, sweating, trembleing, lack air, etc.. A person can Hove one or more of these symptoms. There is social phobia in which individual experience is specific to certain situations and then is Agoraphobia is more widespread, which means an intense anxiety of being caught trapped, lost or trapped in a situation without help if a panic attack occur. Ok now with all these is the treatment. Medicines are useful but should be some thearpy that goes with it. Such a gradual exposure. If the store is causing anxiety, then slowly work your way. Start with a small shop that makes little anxiety and work your way to the larger store. There are also relaxation thearpy where the psychologist will tell your body tense, then relax. I recommend you go see a psychologist to tell you what happens to you and ask about cognitive behavioral thearpy. More about thearpy relaxation and exposure to graduate. Note that it will not improve overnight. It will take time and effort. Also note note that I will not live like that, because only worsen without assistance. From what I understand that maldaptive thoughts and learning experiences that probably started defective in childhood and then developed further during his divorce. Despite his talk with a psychologist about your family history that also give a better picture. The most say more opportunity to heal. Meaning, are the type of treatment that suits your needs. Good luck (I'm not a professional, just a beginning student of psychology.)

social anxiety in young children
Do you think there is a certain intolerance for adult victims of abuse, such as "Get Over It"?

Do you think there is something of "hostility" toward adult victims of child abuse as "Get Over It"? Many adults suffer from PTSD, disorders Anxiety, depression, social. That affects their life, everything, but most try to hide the facts, it is little sympathy for that. Like "Jenny" Forrest Gump, was sexually assaulted a child and an adult who has acted sexually and drug and not its act together until it's too late. He had scored a whore and that's all. A lot of girls in prostitution and sex have been victims of violence can not be seen as villains or victims? Pimps know where to find girls low self-esteem than their neighbors in line, both men loitering for sex, and consider re-victimization of women as fair meat may not even funny. When long-term consequences of child abuse, especially among girls, is best understood in society?

There is a stigma for sexual abuse in childhood, including incest. Believe it or not, consideribly things have improved since I was a child. Everything is hidden, not talking, we are blamed for the abuse that occurs in the first place, and women of my age who have lived this nightmare is terribly emotionally marked by the complete lack of support and understanding of what had cross. And I agree w / you. is almost an attitude of "deal with it, all in the past." It is never in the past. She is one of the most damaging things that can happen to a human being. You NEVER make any sense self-esteem or sense of self confidence. This violation most personal and devastation of a human being can endure. And until that stigma is demolished, and women can finally speak of hell that they lived, and make people finally understand the pain and torment, there will be great progress in healing. And is also right about the victims often fall into the trap of sex. Everything comes from low self-esteem, and know no different. A very tragic situation indeed.
